About this deal

The girl moves away to another country to put a distance between her and her bf who she has a huge crush on -well played, I appreciate the effort, I would advise the same. The chastising tone of his words pierce through any shred of dignity I had left. I feel dirty and ashamed as he looks at me like I'm the worst mistake of his life. Is hooking up with me really such an appalling concept to him? I realize he can get girls ten times hotter than me, but to act like I'm some kind of disgusting mistake is a degradation I can't stomach. Three things Lynsey Jones knows about the hot doctor: he’s grouchy, an arrogant jerk, and strangely obsessed with pie. Now they’re both about to learn the biggest lesson of all: Don’t fall in love with your best friend.

The most annoying and distracting part of this book for me was Cozy’s constant insecurities and fat-shaming inner critic. If you go through my highlights you will see how this dominated the narrative for at least 80% of the book. I get that she was plus sized and I appreciate that a character can have some insecurities that she can overcome through her character arc, but in this book it was overwhelming and incessant. It got really old really fast. In one breath she would say she was happy with her body, yet in the next she thought she was too fat for Max to want. Like many, many times. ‘Max probably dated size 0 models’ ‘Max could get someone way hotter than me’ even when Max gave every indication that he was INCREDIBLY into her curves she kept on with it. And adding to that, the constant negative body shaming of slimmer women was frankly insulting. Not just curvy girls are reading this. Calling athletic women gym rats or implying that thinner women are always starving is misogyny. One woman’s worth is NEVER elevated by demeaning another woman. I was incredibly disappointed in Daws when I read these moments. She went out of her way to be inclusive to lesbian and pansexual characters, to introduce topics like forced heteronormativity on lesbian women and yet slapped down differently sized women in her next breath. Come on! Do better Ms Daws. If you read my highlights you will see that I’m not exaggerating. It was a big part of the narrative for Cozy’s character. I loved Cozy, Max and Everly! She's sweet, sassy, curvy and plus sized and confident. Sure she has the same insecurities ALL women have, but she's not riddled with low self esteem the way most plus sized heroines are portrayed these days. She is smart, fun, and has the biggest heart. Makes sense and feels like the best karma that she was paired with a dreamboat of a guy like Max. Nanny and boss have never been so sweet and delicious together. Max is a really great dad, maybe a little super focused but Cassandra helps him to relax and see the joy in just being and enjoying the moments.

For everyone. If you’re not terrified of losing Poppy every day of your life, she’s not the one for you.” I huff out a laugh and begin pacing. The chemistry these two have, my goodness, the sides were sizzling. And we need to discuss the problem? And always have fun learning new technical terms… Zaddy! That changed my view of so many men now. I could go on forever, but instead I’ll just say buy, read and LOVE! Amy Daws lives in South Dakota with Kevin (her husband) and Lorelei (their miracle daughter). It was the long-awaited birth of Lorelei that inspired Amy’s passion for writing. It was only a tiny part of the story, but I quite enjoyed the powerful LGBTQ+ message. Acceptance, support–financially and emotionally–and the fact that it’s Max who delivers it. All of that was nice and positive. If you’re more into listening to a book rather than reading it, THEN GET KEEPER! If you like to read a book but also listen to the audio, THEN GET KEEPER! Pretty much, JUST GET KEEPER! You won’t regret it!

This is apart of an interconnected series but each can be read as a stand alone! I haven’t read them all just yet—and was not confused at all! But I did read One Moment Please and seeing those characters in this book made my heart happy!! Amy Daws has outdone herself with this book. Not only is it a wonderful story, but the heroine was inspiring. Thank you so much, Amy, for writing a plus-sized heroine with all the sass who is nothing short of amazing. And Max? Max is a total dreamboat. They never crossed that line of friendship as he watched his brothers break countless girls’ hearts. Each time he started to get attached to one of their girlfriends, they’d vanish, never to be seen again.Dr. Belle Ryan once thought Tanner Harris was the perfect kind of bearded bad boy she needed to relieve a bit of stress after her intense job as a surgical fellow, but an icy cold rejection from London’s sluttiest footballer puts the two at each other’s throats.

I can't say enough about Cozy. One, she is a plus-sized heroine who is very much aware of her body, i.e., she knows how hard it is to find the perfect clothes or even to shop for them. What she is not is insecure about it, or a doormat. She doesn't throw herself a pity party over any of it. She owns her curves like it's nobody's business, and that, let me tell you, is what I really aspire to be. She's also such a strong person, and she's been through so much. She deserves to be happy.

I am so bummed I didn't absolutely love this book like the others in the series. I waited very impatiently for this story and was so excited to get my hands on it. Even though this wasn't my favorite story, I still enjoyed many moments and overall rooted for Max and Cozy to get their happily ever after. I was waiting patiently for this book to come out, I thought Daws would stay in the Harris world forever and never finish this series, which is part of the reason why I was disappointed with this book. Don’t get me wrong, this was, in essence, a cute story. It was a grumpy/sunshine, age gap, single dad trope, which is one of my personal favourites.

This was another book I really enjoyed but had a few odd things for me. Either way, I really enjoyed this one. These are the keywords in this friends to love
