About this deal

So he is a F1 driver, and two years after the incident that cost him the WC, he gets a new teammate in the form of Santiago 'Santi' Alatorre. A twenty-four year old Spanish prodigy who debuted in Formula One at twenty-one (which is supposed to be revolutionary, while in real F1 drivers have debuted at the ripe age of seventeen), who in fact was the only bearable character in this whole story. And that is when he meets Maya. So not much had happened till where I read it, and I doubted anything would happen after that, so I just stopped. The rest of the book was probably just the physical manifestation of all the thoughts Maya and Noah had been having throughout, and no, I am most definitely not interested in reading that.

Noah is one of the best F1 racers in the world. His father is a legend in the industry, so racing is practically in his blood. You would think that would make his parents supportive of him and his career, but you would be wrong. They fake enthusiasm and love in public, but in reality, they use him as a status symbol they can control. It's no wonder Noah isn't a feelings kind of guy. He's a playboy that uses women like Kleenex, but when he meets a certain dark haired beauty at a press conference, his curiosity is peaked like never before. With coming as a Wattpad bad boy reject, there is also a plethora of other stuff that comes with him as baggage. Playboy lifestyle, daddy and mommy issues, you know the gest. This guy just disgusts me so much. So we start off with a scene showing how much his parents hate him, and him being rude to them, and that is basically the only event that happens in this book. The author did not even develop the fAmIlY dRaMa much, just Noah's dad came and slapped him a couple of times and that was that. His dad being a terrible person with cold Arctic eyes was the only plot in this book and I cannot look past that. don't get me started on rowan or should i say the most boring man to ever live . i can't believe i'm saying this but alex from twisted love is 10x better than daddy issues rowan. the only thing i liked was how noah went to therapy instead of getting 'fixed' by maya but let's face it, lauren asher probably took that idea from one of those tiktoks that give unsolicited advice on how to make your partner fall in love with you.now I didn’t think I’d enjoy this book as much as I did. because it’s giving me “Disneyland but for adults.” and grown ass adults obsessed with Disneyland already deserve the most brutal deaths in my opinion. /j…kinda Maya and Noah's characters : Maya is like bland coffee and Noah is just the same. And two bland coffees can't make good chemistry.

Santiago cut in front of Liam at the last turn. Don’t underestimate him, he wants the win.” More chatter echoes through the radio.

Found tons of additional descriptors in their dialogue which I felt like ruined the delivery. For example, “There’s a shit ton of smoke coming from the car, making it hard to breathe.” When read in context of the chapter, I feel like dropping that last part would have made it more charged, except it read as internal thoughts and not the descriptor dialogue it was meant for.

She keeps pining for Noah ever since the beginning of the book in the least subtle way possible, but what is there for him? Also, I hate when authors are describing someone who isn’t white as exotic. There really is no need for that. I honestly had high expectations for this after watching this series EVERYWHERE and how much I loved The Fine Print (my first book by this author), but man... this left me tired and ready to take a nap. There was nothing wrong with the characters or anything, it's just that the plot was bland and I ended up skimming a lot waiting for something more interesting to happen. There were literally only 3 chapters that held my full attention; the one with the most googled questions about Noah, the one in which Maya guided Noah in the final race and the epilogue. He closes the gap between us and grabs me like the good old days. His fists tighten around my race suit, eyes barely concealing the rage that bubbles within. I can tell he battles between hitting me and verbally sparring with me.

then he whisks her away to New York and plans a whole book event and meet and greet with her favourite author... then immediately rebukes that she’s his gf. it made zero sense and was so annoying to read. like if he was doing the bare minimum while insisting they were causal, fine. but when they talk like a couple. act like a couple. think like a couple. then they’re a couple. Noah is supposed to be 30, but he definitely reads as a 21-year-old frat boy. It was really hard for me to think of him as a 30-year-old man with the way he talked, specifically how he talked about women. That's where some of the cheesy lines and dialogue came in. I did however liked Ani, Zahra's sister. She was full of life and so so easy to like and read about. Claire and Rowan's brothers were there too and that's pretty much about them. This might be a reach, but this book also was very similar to Off Campus. Noah was kind of like Garret. Similar dad issues. An athlete. His three other friends. Never wanted more until THE girl. It seemed like the deal, but the race car version. The tale of Noah Slade and Maya Alatorre is told throttled by Lauren asher. Noah is the son of a Formula One icon who is carving out his history in the sport by winning championship after championship. Noah’s competitive nature is the driving force behind his success, and two years after colliding with Santiago Alatorre, their hostility only grows when they become teammates.
