About this deal

The code names of many of the other figures, assuming they even had code names, are still unknown, as those toys have (thus far) consistently been listed under their actual characters' names. Meanwhile, a listing for a supposed Voyager Class figure using the code name "Destroyer" later turned out to be a mislabeled Energon Igniters Speed Series Barricade from the Bumblebee movie toy line, with which the Studio Series shares its code names. His bicep and thigh swivels are REALLY tight on mine. I need to grip him hard to use those joints without moving something else. Studio Series has always allowed fans to reach past the big screen and build the ultimate Transformers collection inspired by iconic movie scenes from the Transformers movie universe. Now, the Studio Series line is expanding to include the epic moments and characters from the classic 1986 The Transformers: The Movie, bringing fans a whole new series of screen-inspired figures to collect! (Each sold separately. Subject to availability.) What should have happened what some clear plastic "shoes" you could clip on his feet for posing. Give him a small toe like side arm (so he could be posed without the clear feet) and make him look like he did in the movie...falling over wheel feet or not. He was made available the UK as a Sainsbury's exclusive, and in Australia and New Zealand as a Kmart exclusive.

According to designer Hisashi Yuki, the wheels on the hands were a rushed late addition due to a design change in the movie character model. [5] This is why the hand tires are not integrated more properly into the toy. Along with Breakaway, Sideways was initially released in two color schemes, a light silver version and a less common very dark silver version. If you move the headlights, doors and legs of the lighter Sideways to the darker one, allowing for a dark hood and roof, and silver everywhere else, it helps to make for a slightly more movie-accurate Sideways. However, the stripes will still be missing.

First revealed at New York Toy Fair 2018, Transformers Generations: Studio Series (aka Transformers: Studio Series), acts as a celebration under the Generations banner of over ten years of live-action movies, with characters from every movie represented. It has to date also coincided with Bumblebee and Rise of the Beasts, the sixth and seventh films in the live-action film series.

A metallic redeco of Swerve (itself a retool of Revenge of the Fallen Deluxe Class Sideswipe sporting an alternate head sculpt), presumably as an homage to Generation 1 Sideswipe. The design of Sideways's vehicle mode appears to be based off an Audi R8 tuned by APR, that was on display at the Michelin booth at SEMA 2007. The AllSpark Almanac Volume 2 reveals that a Sideways paid a visit to the Animated universe; while inhabiting that universe, his body form bore minor similarities to Revenge of the Fallen Sideways, and he showed an interest in visiting Shanghai. The book only asserts this intention, not that he actually traveled there, nor does it specify which universe's Shanghai he meant—there is no unambiguous proof that such a jaunt was made and that the two Sidewayses are the same character. Author Jim Sorenson characterized the book as being meant to match the Animated series' penchant for "in-jokes and Easter Eggs", [4] suggesting that he might not have meant it to be taken seriously. Sorenson as Vector Prime later classified Sideways as a non-Singularity, noting the separate status of the numerous Sideways from the movieverse. I knew from pics I would not like the feet, but it's worse in hand. Side arm was a lot more stable if you moved those "toes" around, and he still looked correct with wheel feet. Figure features classic conversion between robot and licensed Chevrolet Corvette Stingray modes in 19 steps. Perfect for fans looking for a more advanced converting figure. For kids and adults ages 8 and up

Sideswipe's instructions aren't clear as to how his torso is supposed to connect with his chest in robot mode. The torso piece has a square peg on top of it and there is a corresponding square hole between the two screws holding the front of his chest together. Getting his torso section in front of his arm struts can be a somewhat snug fit. This mold was retooled into the Deluxe Class version of Revenge of the Fallen Dead End and Movie Advanced Series Dino. This item is currently scheduled for release, but is not yet available at mass retail. Cores, Deluxes, Megatron

While in many ways simply a larger version of the Deluxe toy, it has several changes. The wheeled feet may now fold out into a stand system, allowing Sideswipe to stand without having to balance on the wheels, or be left as is to retain a more rounded look, and his blades are now rubberized to prevent injury and damage, as the blades lay flat underneath in vehicle mode. The sword-hands can also be slotted into a gear system connected to the front wheels, which causes them to spin as the wheels are turned. The passenger's seat may either be used as a seat for Epps, or turned into a missile launcher slung over Sideswipe's left shoulder.

Sideways was a crew member aboard the Nemesis during its mission to scour the galaxy for a Star Harvester. He was apparently wounded when the Ark warped into their ship and damaged it, as he was heard calling out for the ship medic in the aftermath. Alongside the rest of the crew, Sideways then boarded the Longshot and pursued the Ark to Earth. Convergence chapter 1 Unite for the Universe Besides his speed, Sideways enjoyed using deception to get himself out of trouble. This didn't work very well on Rollbar, who planned to make the lying Sideways an acquaintance of his fists. Why Sideways decided to change his paintjob for this meeting was anyone's guess. Rollbar VS Sideways INCH SCALE SIDESWIPE: Figure features vivid, movie-inspired deco, is highly articulated for posability, and comes with 2 blaster and 2 blade accessories

I wish the wheels were painted, but I'll be painting this guy up anyway. One downside is I have trouble getting him to roll, but personally that's not an issue for me. Find out what I look like when I don't spend all of my 3-second appearance jumping through a building. When Audi was looking to win screen time for one of its cars in the summer films during 2009, Ruben Igielko-Herrlich, a marketing consultant from Propaganda Global Entertainment Marketing, helped the company to find an opportunity in Revenge of the Fallen. Ruben talked the movie's staff into finding a role for the Audi R8. Ultimately, an Audi R8 appears in the film as Sideways. Thus, Sideways became the only car Transformer in the movie whose alternate mode is not manufactured by General Motors. [8]While it has never been confirmed, the move to include 1986 characters in the Studio Series toyline after three years of continuous focus on the live-action films, was likely done to allow Hasbro and TakaraTomy to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the film, without stepping on the toes of the Beast Wars 25th anniversary, which was celebrated as a part of the War for Cybertron Trilogy. Evidence suggesting this is the inclusion of some of the film's main characters ( Cyclonus, Rodimus Prime and Galvatron) being sold in the concurrently-ran Kingdom toyline and the shared design aesthetics of the toys between both lines. Sideways operated as a high-speed reconnaissance operative with the ability to snipe at Autobot opponents from afar with his plasma sniper rifle, engage them up-close with his rapid-firing slag repeater, and slow enemies to a crawl with his graviton mine when he needed to get away. He uses a pair of saws in melee combat. Despite Studio Series' prominently featured numbering system, there are several numbers missing from the line, as of writing these being: 86-18 and 94. Additionally, 79, 86-13, 86-20, 86-24, 95, 96, and 102 are missing, but are assigned to the Buzzworthy Bumblebee version of the line, though it is unclear if there are any plans for them to be released in the regular Studio Series line as well. 74 Revenge of the Fallen Bumblebee is the only set so far to be re-released in the regular line after debuting in Buzzworthy Bumblebee. This character article is a stub and is missing information on their video game appearances. You can help Transformers Wiki by expanding it. He later collected some loose Energon around an airport in East Asia and a nuclear silo in the Sahara desert, and also assisted in reviving Megatron. Revenge of the Fallen: Autobots/Decepticons
