About this deal

Q. I like the product however I’m worried about how it will look around light switches and skirting boards for example. Retro fitted cavity wall insulation doesn't have this and can in some cases act as a bridge for penetrating water to the inner leaf of the wall causing damp, the wet cavity can also lead to premature corrosion of wall ties. This is more likely on a Victorian cavity wall than a larger modern cavity wall. Lots of the companies that put the CWI in also don't have the best reputations. You can apply over a paper product e.g. lining paper, woodchip embossed papers. Do not apply over vinyl or blown vinyl wallpaper, as this will reduce the breathability of the thermal liner. Again lightly sand then PVA bond the wallpaper.

Surfaces painted prior to 1960 may contain lead pigments and special precautions should be taken when preparing such surfaces. Insulation is amazing stuff. Remember the days of 3mm polystyrene roll (I think you can still get it!)? I recall as a wee kid coming across this stuff on a relative's old house wall, and being fascinated by how 'warm' it felt when I placed my palm on it. I realise now that 'warm' means that it didn't conduct heat out off my skin... Thermal liner is classified as „E “according to DIN EN 13501-1 in relation to its reaction to fire behaviour, which corresponds to „B2“(normally inflammable) according to the standard DIN 4102-1 Helps to alleviate condensation and mould problems even faster by raising and equalising the temperature in the room

Only paste the wall enough for 1 strip at a time leaving it wider to make sure the edges are covered and to reduce the amount on adhesive that will be applied for the next strip on the edges. It's always best to choose a breathable thermal lining paper option, and KV600 is one of the most trusted on the market. I would also think that, once it's adhered properly on that wall, it ain't going to shift easily. So, follow the instructions carefully, and allow PLENTY of time to ensure the proper adhesive has fully set. Typical paste consumption guide : 5kg of adhesive per roll, The adhesive consumption indication is for guidance only, on walls in good condition less paste may be required whereas on damaged or textured walls and surfaces that are not vertical, more paste may be required. If you're lining a new wall, then you can apply the thermal liner directly to the plasterboard. However, if you're lining an existing wall, then you'll need to apply a primer first. This will ensure that the thermal liner adheres correctly and doesn't come away from the wall.

As a final tip – if you are going round the corners of rooms with the thermal liner, I suggest cutting it as per the diagram below. We'd not recommend putting ceramic tiles over the thermal liner. If you want to hang ceramic tiles over the thermal liner, please use the Professional Insulation Panels instead. When used in isolation this product is suitable as a localised ‘problem solver’ for cold external walls and is not recommended for use in fire escape routes or on ceilings.Apply a good amount of adhesive working away from the corner to the wall enough to hang 1 strip at a time of thermal liner (apply approx.1m wide - KV600 1.3m Wide), This is so there is enough to cover the edges at both sides using a medium pile roller and a brush for the top, bottom and corners. You can however use a normal Stanley knife but make sure you have loads of spare blades as you will need them. A. Yes you will do, especially when the heating is first turned on as room warm up time is reduced dramatically and the air currents that make you feel cold whilst a room warms up are also reduced. This is of course in addition to all the other benefits such as a reduction in noise entering through the treated wall.

I applied the System Adhesive to walls using a medium pile roller, using a brush around skirting and ceiling where the roller wouldn't “reach”, making sure there was plenty of adhesive on the wall where I used the brush – i.e. I didn't brush it out.Thermally efficient wallpapers hold more of the heat energy from the room’s air at the wall surface helping to combat the conditions which promote condensation forming and mould growing. This product is suitable as a localised ‘problem solver’ for cold external walls and is not recommended for use in fire escape routes inside your home unless the surface is further treated with a fire retardant covering. This product is class Efire rated andshould not be used for projects such as new builds and extensions where Building regulations are applicable. It looks like the stuff I replaced for someone recently. It didn't provide any noticeable difference to the room at all. Apparently it was quite expensive when you they had to buy the special adhesive and then the insulated layer product. The one I removed also had to be filled where the joints but up and didn't look good where it met the window reveal. The efficiency measurement of an actual material is called the Lambda. The higher the Lambda rating the more efficient it is and as a result will require less energy or heat to feel warm an cosy. This rating is measures in Watts / Meter x Kelvin. You can usually buy it from your gas or electricity company at a good price; they are highly unlikely to go bust or run off if there is a problem. It's not like complaining to a double-glazing or a kitchen fitting company.
