About this deal

There are many brands of water-retaining granules but Miracle-Gro has Moisture Control Gel that is designed to retain water in baskets. It works by releasing crystals that absorb up to 150 times their weight in water, so when you water, they absorb it, and then they release it when the roots of your plants begin to dry out. This well-known brand of potting compost is ideal for pots, hanging baskets and seedlings. It’s also suitable for growing vegetables. It contains smart granules that release nutrients for up to three months. * Westland New Horizon peat free multi purpose compost Compost is hugely important when it comes to the nutrients available to your plant. Yes, you can help by using plant food, but the compost should be doing the main job of providing nutrients. This is even more important when a plant is grown in a pot, because the roots have limited access to compost and can’t reach out to a wider area to get the nutrients they need. Containers: Pots that are crammed with plants or have fast-growing plants in them such as annual climbers are more likely to benefit from the addition of granules than those containing drought-tolerant or slow-growing plants such as succulents. Add the granules when you are re-potting a container or when you are planting up a new container.

My carrots I am lifting are a good size but a lot of them have split/burst! I did water through the drought but I have very free draining soil at lottie and I think the reason the carrots split is through the heavy rain that followed the drought.
