About this deal

There was the one "friend" of Grace's, Ramona, that I wanted to punch in both ovaries and then not-so-gently push her off a bridge because hello twat alert! I was glad to see that Grace wasn't such a pushover with her as she was in the beginning, but hopefully she never gets a book. I swears every time I read her name all I could think of was crazy Ramona from Real Housewives and I wanted to reach through my kindle and throttle her. The sex turned out to be mind-blowing for the both of them and after a ton of resistance from Allie, the two enter into an arrangement. They agree to have sex on a regular basis and to not see other people while doing so. But as they start to spend more time together, feelings begin to develop and pretty soon they question whether there might be something more than just sex between them. Grace Ivers is an introverted freshman with a mild case of OCD that's as endearing as she is quirky. Prone to babbling when she gets nervous, I knew just after a few short lines that I'd love her. Her internal dialogue never failed to bring a goofy smile to my face.

It was brilliant! This book was everything I could ask for. Sport romance, full with funny, steamy, alluring and amazing writing style! I didn't want to put my Kindle down, I didn't want to sleep so yep, I stayed till the late hours in my bed and read! These two finally have some time away alone together in a tropical paradise, but things don't really go according to plan. There's a creepy haunted doll (that's featured in each novella) and some big decisions to be made about both their careers. What i loved about the story.. well besides EVERYTHING, I seriously love the humour, the love, the banters, the storyline, the progress of their relationship and the friendships. It was highly entertaining to read about Twilight and what was most amusing was that the conversation about it was leading by the boys. Nothing hotter than men reading or watching the movies, we the girls love! *sigh* Plus the conversation was HILARIOUS ! Now that you’ve gotten to know Logan and Grace a little better have fun reading about them in THE MISTAKE. One of my favorite parts happens at 63%. I had so much fun finding a gif for that passage. That's the great part about goodreads is even for those who haven’t read the story they are still able to join in the fun laughing at a gif. I actually can believe that she managed to ruin one of the few good couples she has, but I would have preferred if she didn't.

The Mistake is my second book by Ms. Kennedy and I’m anticipating more books in the Off-Campus series. The first couple chapters of this book consisted of Logan moaning over Hannah, him nailing girls, Grace stuttering and wondering if she’ll ever lose her virginity and somehow this is supposed to be considered normal and just pure entertainment value because I mean, it’s college right? *insert sarcasm* And if you’re wondering if colleges in the US are all like the way they’re portrayed in NA books (especially in this book), the answer is NO! I won’t hide that book 1 also touched on this kind of setting, but at least in that book the author didn’t allow her main characters to fall victim to that kind of mentality unlike Logan and Grace here. Amy: I have no idea what to start after being enraptured by The Deal. I loved it. Loved, loved, LOVED it!! I’m sooooo leery of starting another contemporary romance right now because it woud have some pretty big shoes to fill after Garrett and “Wellsy” (so cute!). Except three months into our friendship, Demi is single and looking for a rebound. And she’s making a play for me. TEN!” Oh brother. “NINE!” he shouts, motioning me with his hand to join in. And because I love this guy with all my heart, I make him happy and scream right along with him.

These books had humor, drama, amazing sexy times, and most of all, none of the over-the-top angst so many other stories can have. As someone who doesn't read the angsty, heartbreaking type... this was a series made just for me and others who felt the same way. Also, when she did write new scenes (I say this very vaguely), she just cuts the scene before the big moment? What the hell is that supposed to mean? This isn't just a story of the manwhore meeting his match and inevitably succumbing to his feelings for her; it's so much more. The story had wit and humor and so much depth to it, too. There's something that happens towards the end that caught me completely off guard. I never in a million years expected something like that to happen and yet as much as it broke my heart, I can't help but to admit it did the job of driving the plot where it needed to go. in all honesty, I DIDNT CARE ABOUT THE TWINS. OR THEIR GENDERS. I WAS HERE FOR THE CONTENT OF THE CHARACTERS. Stella: I have like a quarter left of “THE DEAL” & i have to say that I really do love it and I’m sad that I’ll be finishing it soon. Thanks for the recommendation Maryse! Your review is spot on!DURING YOUR FIRST CONVERSATION WITH LOGAN YOU COMPARED HIM TO THE INFAMOUS SERIAL KILL, TED BUNDY. WERE YOU NERVOUS AND THAT'S WHY YOU STARTED RAMBLING ON ABOUT RANDOM STUFF? It's no secret that I've never liked Dean as the main character, but I was fine with Allie because she was funny, but I really don't understand what went down here. Are you telling me that they have been together for 4 years, in a committed relationship, living together and talking about future plans, but they don't know what the other wants? or when? then Allie let her fears get the better of her, completely ignoring Dean's feelings in the process, unable to understand his point of view, but also unable to explain hers to him? oh, at this point I was tired of this story, but can we add one last point? Let's talk about how characters that nobody knows were the voice of reason so that she could see things from another angle... JUST TO END WITH A PROPOSAL OF ANY WAYS!!! sorry I just don't get it. The only impression that this story left me is that they began and ended together because of the baby and nothing else, being a convenient situation for both. That's the end of this love story. I think each author should read this and take notes on how NOT to write a novella for their characters. It will leave them an invaluable lesson I believe. I refrained from posting some quotes because you guys should experience all the funnies yourself. And trust me, if you loved the previous books in the series, you will undoubtedly love this one as well.

I still enjoyed some moments of this story, but those little scenes were a given since Hannah and Garrett are my fav couple and I'm gonna take any crumb, but this was wrong on so many levels... I just don't understand how she came out with this. But the other domestic HannahGarrett moment we got, I ate them up. Garrett is such a dumbass and I love him for it. When he thought that Hannah would be moving out and run to the studio to make his declaration lmao or when he found out that they are expecting twins. Goal of the year, they say, but I say comedian of the year. 😂 The funniest, most irreverent and emotional book in the series by far. My friends know how much I loved The Deal, and I love it still. I really do but this book...gah! This book made me laugh and it also made me cry. Yes, cried because apparently, Elle Kennedy had a few surprises up her sleeves which totally broke my heart. And that is the Dean we catch up with, the man who has the happy existence. He does what he wants, is with who he wants, and lives to the fullest. Grace, on the other hand, is adorable girl with a heart of gold. Maybe a bit predictable and socially awkward, but in my opinion it worked pretty well. She’s a freshman and a virgin, who doesn’t have a filter when talking to hot guys, which frankly means she blabs everything; some stories were comical! When Elle Kennedy said "The Legacy" what she really meant is Garrett protecting his father's "legacy" and I'm feeling like the biggest clown on earth. 🤡 How I thought that this book might pave the way for future Off Campus generation, but so much of the HannahGarrett novella was just Garrett being in a shitty mood, because no one knows what his father is really like, bc Garrett is too embarrassed of his past to tell anyone. Seriously, this installment is everything. Dean is one of the NA men every girl would really swoon over. I enjoyed everything here because it's so damn entertaining and romantic to the extreme! I need the fourth book now!
