About this deal

The CT-S1BK is a portable keyboard that delivers incredible sound quality, style, and simplicity. Whether you need an affordable first 61 key keyboard, a portable piano for practice or performance, or an always-ready songwriting partner, the CT-S1BK goes beyond your expectations and redefines what a portable keyboard should be. It might have a very competitive price tag, but any fears that the Casiotone CT-S1 is a ‘cheap’ keyboard are dispelled the moment you start playing it. And then there are the speakers, which - we’ll admit - sound far better than we thought they would, even at higher volumes. There’s little or no evidence of distortion; in fact, if you connect up a smartphone (either via the audio input or Bluetooth adapter) they’re good enough to be used for music listening, too. You can, of course, play along with any steamed- or wired-in audio - a very welcome feature. We’re not going to run you through every tone that’s included, but we’re happy to report that Casio’s AiX sound engine really delivers the goods, providing pretty much everything you need and very little of what you don’t. A combination of oval ear cups and a comfortable headband ensure that you can use the HPM1000 headphones for extended sessions, without encountering listening fatigue! Each cup features crystal clear capsules too, which really helps to project every single detail of your sound. Features

Learning online at home is very popular and the CT-S1 has been designed with this in mind. Connect your phone, tablet or computer directly with USB and enjoy music learning apps and games. Learn with Chordana Play Right from the off, the tones are impressive, with the default stage piano being immensely playable and easily good enough to perform with. The HPM1000 headphones from Behringer are ultra-affordable, offering high resolution sound at an amazing price point. Audio VersatilityIt’s at its best as a practice keyboard at home, and it’s very light, so moving it around the house won’t be a problem, even for younger kids. As I said above, it can be battery-powered, so you can easily take it anywhere with you. Casio’s Chordana Play app is one of the best around when it comes to free content for beginners. It comes with 50 play-along songs and the option to upload any MIDI file. It’s the same story with the vintage keyboards, organs, synths, strings and other sounds - you even get some classics from Casio’s older VL-Tone, CT, CZ and VZ synths.

Fortunately, your favourite setup can be saved for easy recall later on, as can your favourite tones. Performance & Verdict In 1980, the original Casiotone CT-201 allowed anyone to make music, regardless of skill level or budget. With the CT-S1, its spiritual successor, we've raised our own bar. The Casiotone CT-S1 is a great-sounding, stylish, ultra-portable keyboard designed for anyone to enjoy playing. Its incredible sound quality makes it an ideal musical partner for beginners and seasoned players alike, and its sleek, portable design makes it fun to play anytime, anywhere. To be fair, the build quality of keyboards in this price range is typically pretty similar. So, in that sense, there are no red flags or major complaints. The Tourtech TTS-KA4 is a versatile keyboard stand that is an ideal choice for when you’re practicing, recording in the studio, or performing onstage. Adjustable Height

Casio's CT-S1 electronic keyboard is an ideal option if you're looking for a reliable instrument to start learning on. With 61-touch sensitive textured keys, a quality AiX sound source, brilliant performance, and a suite of free online lessons included, the CT-S1 is a beginners dream. Key Features Improved AiX sound technology - utilise the expressive grand piano tone that mirrors its traditional cousins. Using Casio’s advanced AiX sound technology, the CT-S1 boasts an expressive grand piano tone that sounds like an instrument twice its size (not to mention twice the price). Newly developed Bass Reflex speakers and Surround Sound mode mean a richer, more dynamic tone that complements the excellent sound quality. The CT-S1 is an entry level keyboard that you’ll enjoy playing and listening to over and over again. Hassle Free Connections -Every Time Listen to your favourite tunes, mix and master your recordings and monitor a variety of different instruments. These cans can do it all. Thanks to a high dynamic range and a wide frequency response, you get high resolution performance – no matter the scenario. Comfort and ClarityThe Privia PX-S1100 is a keyboard that I highly recommend to beginners who already know they are serious about learning. It’s not overly expensive; in fact, it’s outstanding value for money, but there are cheaper options. If you are sure you can commit to learning to play piano, the PX-S1100 will serve you well for many years. The CT-S1's AiX Sound Source delivers sound quality that you'd expect from a keyboard costing hundreds, if not thousands more. Power on the CT-S1, and you'll be presented with a dynamic, expressive German concert grand piano placed in a virtual concert hall. You'll also find essentials like electric pianos, organs, strings, synths, and more, with Advanced Tones adding complex layers that react to your playing. A collection of vintage keyboard sounds is also included, featuring recreations of timeless, sought-after keyboard instruments. We've even included classic Casio sounds from our VL, VZ and CZ series. Small Size, Huge Sound It’s the slimmest stage piano in the world, which makes the weighted keyboard even more impressive. It’s also one of the lightest, so practicing anywhere you like won’t be a struggle.

The PSR-E373 is a feature-rich portable arranger keyboard. It’s a lovely keyboard, but for complete beginners, the Casio CT-S1 is better. It should be said, though, that if you just want to do the basics - ie, sit down and play - the CT-S1 is about as easy to use as you could hope for. This keyboard comes with a 9.5 V DC power adapter, but you can make it even more portable with battery power (six AA batteries). Optional Bluetooth adapter The Casio CT-S1 isn’t the best-sounding keyboard in its class. The Yamaha NP-12 beats it for grand pianos and the more expensive Roland Go:Keys potentially outdoes it, too. What I need to make clear is that it’s a close call, and the Casio CT-S1 is one of just a few exceptional keyboards at this price. Complete the short form that accompanies your product. Please ensure that you complete all of the sections, as this will guarantee the timely processing of your return/exchange.Compatible with Android and iOS devices, Chordana Play connects via USB or optional Bluetooth dongle and teaches you to play in a fun, visual way. Select from a library of over 50 traditional songs or import any MIDI file you choose. Follow the music score or piano roll notation at your own pace, with the app guiding you through each step. Interactive Online Learning Included It’s a big thumbs-up from us, then - it may have been around for more than 40 years, but with products like this coming to market, the Casiotone brand seems stronger than ever. Another decent option if you're looking for a piano-style entry-level keyboard, the NP-12 is lightweight and portable, and sounds great.
