Straight across match: A wallpaper with a straight across match is a one that starts over at the ceiling line. This means that the design has to match the strips on either side. These take more planning than random matches, but they are not typically complex patterns. Every wallpaper has a washability grading which indicates the water resistance and washability of the wallpaper. There are various methods of safe cleaning that will be indicated by one of the below symbols on your wallpaper label. These are also indicators of how gentle you need to be when applying the wallpapers. If you end up getting some of the spongeable/washable wallpapers too wet with paste/have paste on the front of the wallpaper during applicationyou need to handle them carefully and clean gently. When you inspect a wallpaper label sometimes there will be a symbol relating to the removal technique for that wallpaper. Knowing what strategy must be used to remove your wallpaper at a later date will save you a lot of time and effort in the long run. There are three main wallpaper removal techniques. Dirt and domestic water-based stains can be easily removed from this type of wallpaper. It can be scrubbed clean using a sponge, cloth or brush using a mild detergent or soapy water depending on the stain. Light surface dirt can be removed from washable wallpaper using a lightly damp sponge but you must avoid any chemicals and should be used cautiously to avoid any tears, rips or cause colours to bleed . Any oils, fats, and other types of solvent-based stains cannot be removed from this type of wallpaper. Extra-Washable
It means you have to plan your strips out carefully. You will need to determine how you want each strip to lie before you get started. Once you finish the first two, you will need to stop and evaluate the completed section to make sure it was done correctly. You will then be stopping to verify the alignment after every strip to make sure that every other strip is identical and that the ones in between align at the right points. It requires no matching of a pattern/no alignment so is the easiest of the pattern matches to hang. Free match wallpapers use the least amount of wallpaper as you don't have any wastage to cut away. There is no need to use a special paste to hang 'Paste the Wall' wallpaper. The best way to be certain of buying enough wallpaper, is to work it out as if it were an ordinary repeat and add half a repeat to each drop, except for the first one.
