You can’t help but be impressed by the ground’s exterior, as much as I tried not to! But first time visitors may be expecting too much, whilst pundits on the telly can go over the top about it. It’s a vast, great stadium, but it’s definitely not going to make your jaw drop like the Bernabeu or San Siro for example, but then that’s just my opinion. Inside the ground is even more impressive, totally enclosed, the impossibly steep stands meet the pitch mere yards from the players. It looks intimidating from the stands, I’d imagine it’d be even more so from the players’ point of view. Another option is to park in Eccles, and get the Metrolink to either Pomona or Exchange Quays, which will take around 15 minutes. There is free secure parking available on Eccles New Road, and you are right on the doorstep of the “Drinking Capital” of Eccles Town Centre.

If you are traveling to Old Trafford by car then do try and get to the ground and it’s surroundings early before the game, the streets around Old Trafford are very congested from an hour and a half before a match.
There are a number of street parking options on Great Stone Road, and it’s just a 10 minute walk from Old Trafford. It is also near to a few decent pubs and places to eat. Follow M56 until its end and then take the M60 (W&N) as for Trafford Centre. At Junction 7 leave M60 and take the A56 towards Stretford. Stay on the A56 for 2.1 miles then you will come to see Sir Matt Busby Way on your left.
