About this deal

It's a powerful rechargeable dual-beam LED flashlight with both flood and throws. Following the Marauder 2's lens design and composed of 9 LEDs surrounding the center, it enables seven brightness levels that provide 200-7000 lumens. A large round LED has been added to the center, offering a 600-meter spotlight beam.

Lamp Type: 1 x Central spot CW LED / 6 x flood CW LEDs / 1 x red LED / 1 x green LED / 1 x blue LEDPowered by a customized 24Wh 32650 rechargeable lithium battery, it offers an extended runtime. The tail cap of the Marauder Mini can be removed, unlike the Marauder 2. That means thecell can be replaced, so it can be used again and again. I’ve written this chart like Olight wrote the manual. Every mode’s top level is called “100%” and the stepdowns are a percentage of that number (instead of just stating what that number is…) I don’t know why Olight did the list this way. Mode Sometimes, features are a problem. One of the things I never encountered before is a proximity sensor inside a flashlight. I am usually not very fond of this type of feature, but I actually appreciate it, because it’s a safety feature. It reduces the output when an object is close to the flashlight. This could be a person, but it could also be your bag!

It’s quite interesting that the TIR optics of the outer LEDs and the center LED with the convex shape are all made of 1 piece of plastic. Some people complained about the rectangular beam, and it’s probably because they aren’t used to it. I think our perception of a beam is usually round. It’s not like the imperfect beam of most zoomable/focusable flashlights. The LED for throw is in the center behind a convex shaped lens. The outer ring of LEDs are in the outer ring behind TIR optics. In the flood setting, the beam is really wide and smooth. I don’t really know what kind of LEDs they are. There is yet 1 more switch, and that one is for switching between flood and throw. The center LED is actually used separately from the LEDs on the edge of the flashlight. I like that idea to have this option. The single LED has a much longer runtime as well. But anyway, the flood/throw switch is located below the knob. It’s pretty easy to operate in the dark.If you look at the 3 graphs, you see that L5 is actually doing the nices output from 25 minutes onward. It produces about 3500 lumens just short of 3.5 hours.

This powerful flashlight also contains a thermal sensor that automatically downshifts power to maintain a low body temperature when there is continuous high output usage. Olight not only keeps your safety in mind but strives to prevent damage from overheating and lens obstruction. There’s a whole lot to love about the Olight Marauder Mini flashlight. Throw is fantastic, the output is good, and offering multiple levels of red or green or blue just makes the light extra fun! The unusual cell size (32650) does not bother me; I’m quite pleased that it’s possible to replace the cell. I do wish the Mini offered USB-C charging (and possibly a powerbank feature) as the Marauder 2 does. All in all, this one’s a big winner! Long Review The Big Table Olight Marauder Mini FlashlightI will say that the rotary interface here doesn’t quite suit me. The switch seems to be some weird combination of rotary and “speed sensing switch” (there’s a real name for it I’m sure). If you rotate the dial very slowly, either nothing will happen, or you’ll rotate the switch nearly all the way around for onechange in level. In other words, the levels are not specific places on the dial. You rotate until the level changes. The rotary rotates freely; there are no stop points here (that is, it’s not like the rotary on the Olight Olantern Classic 2 Pro, for example. In normal use this is fine, but if you’re trying to dial in specifically to level 4 or whatever, it can be frustrating.
