About this deal

RIVER 2 uses LiFePO4 batteries, a newer subset of lithium-ion batteries. Compared to other lithium-ion batteries, batteries with LiFePO4 (lithium iron phosphate) chemistry require no maintenance, are safer, and have a longer lifespan. Prepare your appliances for unexpected outages. With a fast 30ms switch-over speed, RIVER 2 Pro keeps your must-have-power appliances running. On the other hand, RIVER 2 Pro offers substantially more power. With an operating AC output of 800W (1,600W of starting power with x-boost), RIVER 2 can power up to 80% of high-wattage appliances. With 4 different ways to top up the RIVER 2 Series, there’s a recharge option no matter what. From fast AC in-car charging when you’re on the go. The RIVER 2 series is the first-ever collection of portable power stations to be TÜV Rheinland certified, meaning their safety, durability, and quality is evaluated by independent experts and found to be beyond reproach.

What does this mean? If your house or caravan is running on mains electricity, you can use larger EcoFlow devices like the Delta 2 attached to the mains distribution board via a switch – when the mains drops out, the switch will automatically move you onto battery power.Temperature affects solar panel efficiency, while factors like the peak sun hours your solar panel receives and its positioning impact how much electricity you generate in real-world conditions. Unlike two DELTA Pros (for example), you can’t connect two RIVER 2s together to use them in parallel.

For the RIVER 2 Pro, enjoy even faster charging times. You’ll be impressed as you watch the charge go from 0-100% in just 70 minutes with an outlet, which is a 27% increase in charging speed. It’s also more than five times the industry average. But a maximum operating AC output of 300W severely limits the kind of appliances you can run with RIVER 2. Essentially, anything with an operating wattage above 300W — or a starting wattage requirement of 600W+ — simply won’t work. Additionally, you can expand a PPS like the DELTA Pro to provide up to 25kWh of electricity storage — enough to run many households for a full day. Even if your appliance has an operating wattage of 300W, RIVER 2 could only run that one appliance. And, due to the battery storage capacity of 256Wh, RIVER 2 can’t even run your 300W device for an hour (watt-hours and kilowatt-hours measure electricity consumed over time). Using cutting-edge LiFePO4 batteries, RIVER 2 Max and Pro have an equally impressive cycle life of 3000 cycles to 80+% capacity. After 3000 complete cycles, the battery will still function at around 80% capacity. However, if you’re powering something like a lightbulb at 60 running watts, you could get over 4 hours of power. For example, you can connect it to an EcoFlow 220W Bifacial Portable Solar Panel since the solar Input of RIVER 2 is 8A Max,11-30V 110W, and the Open Circuit Voltage of EcoFlow 220W Bifacial Portable Solar Panel is 21.8V, which falls within that range. However, any extra electricity produced over 110W gives you no additional benefit.

With a lightweight of only 7.8kg and an easy to carry design, RIVER 2 Pro makes on-the-go power plain-sailing.Colour LCD display – using the exact screen of the Delta 2, this is probably the best display on the market in terms of useful information. The display shows a) time left to fully charge/discharge b) existing battery % remaining c) power coming in and d) power going out. The RIVER 2 Pro’s AC and DC power ports are all standards compliant, ensuring seamless connectivity with all photographic and video kits. But remember, its power output has a ceiling – attempting to run high-drain appliances like iron will cause it to trip. The RIVER 2 Pro, whilst offering an impressive maximum output of 800W and being surge-protected up to 1600W, won’t take kindly to a standard iron which will happily draw some 3000w, if not more, during the heating process. The RIVER 2 Pro has more electricity storage (Wh/kWh) and output capacity (W/kW) than the RIVER 2 Max, but the Max is lighter, smaller, and easier to carry. The main distinctions between the RIVER 2 Max and RIVER 2 Pro are the battery capacity and power output.
