About this deal

As with any binoculars, there is no single best option, rather you can get the best one for your specific requirements and preferences. Well, you are right that if I measure the outside aperture of my 12x60s with a ruler it will come out at 60mm. But from shining a laser through the eyepiece of them and measuring how the disk of light that comes out the aperture I get 54mm. So there is an internal baffle. As for the exit pupil figure, I measured mine at 4.5mm which is what it should if I've only really got 12x54s. So honesty in one area and not so much in another. Slightly more powerful than most large binoculars and nicely priced, the Nikon Action EX 12x50 are impressive and good value. We had a lot of success with these binoculars during the night and day, but they are more substantial than most rivals. Their extra bulk may put a lot of potential users off, but the 12x magnification is worth it if you want to get closer-in to distant objects and animals. Looking to upgrade your equipment? Hi all, apologise if this topic had been discussed just unable to find it in a topic hence would like to pose my question here. The central focus knob between the tubes has a ridged rubber covering to make it easy to use with gloves. So too does the diopter wheel, which lets the binoculars compensate for differences between your eyes and achieve a focus that suits you. Thanks for providing your valuable pointers and the link! Yes I'm not wearing glasses hence both seems appealing to me. One observation I do have for my existing SV 8.5x42 is that I do get blind spot quite often and have to adjust my viewing position whereas leica allows me to just get it right most of the time. binoculars are best used during the day as well as in low light. They produce brighter images and add great detail due to the 10x magnification power. If you’re willing to pay a little more as well as add a few grams to the instrument’s body. This should be your go-to!one for a year or so, and I really like it. My experience is wide ranging, and this one should be one to try before Yes, the Nikon Action EX 12x50 are heavy, but the extra power they offer (and for very little extra outlay) alongside their rugged design and clean crisp and colorful images make them a great option if long-distance observing is your objective. The main reason that 10x42 binoculars are cheaper than 10x50 and 12x50 binoculars is down to the Economies of Scale which entails that the 10x42 configuration is fairly popular amongst users. The legendary EL wrap-around grip guarantees maximum comfort and steadiness when observing, even over long periods of time.

ED stands for low dispersion glass. This helps reduce the effects of colour fringing , but not fully eliminating chromatic aberration, with just a little showing around high contrast subjects. With an exit pupil of just over 4mm and 50mm objective lenses, the image is very bright with punchy contrast. A little fall off towards the edges, but well within tolerances. Astrophotography and Sketching → Experienced Deep Sky Imaging → Uranus c pro imx 585 sensor artifact such a powerful glass: I can focus in on a big print of Chesley Bonestell’s “Saturn seen From Titan” on my study wall and The only thing Celestron's binos might have would be lighter weight and possibly flatter fields. Not gonna lie, I would love to do a side by side comparison of my 12x54s to those 12x50s!! flare or ghosting or any loss of contrast; very impressive. The same test on the Nikon’s old SEs producesUm, if you divide 60 into 10 parts, you get 6. and if you say take away one of those ten parts (which is equal to six) from 60, you get 54. I've done the light/laser test and it's true that they are truly 12x54s. Welcome to BirdForum, the internet's largest birding community with thousands of members from all over the world. Trekking between mountain huts is a sensational experience, and we’re going to let you into a secret: it’s best to do it outside of summer

I’m in the market for a 12x, Zeiss doesn’t have it locally so I’m into a Leica and a swarovski. I have access and tried both, (for a short period only) each has its pros and cons hence am looking for more insights from owners or experience users. I have a EL 8.5x42 hence I’m familiar with Swarovski. For both financial and curious reasons, the little kid in me wanted to get a different brand i.e. Leica to complete the experience. So far those that I’ve asked all fall to a EL at the end of the day and they all have a swarovski to begin with. The Nikon Action EX 12x50 is a great value combination of high power and light-gathering. If you really want to get closer to objects then look for binoculars with 16x magnification – and prepare to always use a tripod – but we think 12x is both a worthy upgrade from 10x binoculars without hugely adding to the weight. flat fields. Nevertheless, these eyepieces deliver a wide field of view at 5.7 ° that matches Swarovski’s 12x50 ELs and betters Nikon’s 12x50Astrophotography and Sketching → Beginning Deep Sky Imaging → Optolong's L-enhance vs. the New L-Quad enhance filters. I tried the Meopta 12X50, nice optics, however the ER and shape of the eye-cups did not work for me. I have the 12X50 UVHD, a great glass for both terrestrial viewing and hand held astro. I do not wear glasses, if I did, they would not work for me due to the lower ER.
