About this deal

Under 50 minutes from Seattle, it’s an exciting excursion to break up the quarantine days! Murhut Falls One of my favorite parts of Washington is the lush moss that covers everything and glows a bright green when it’s wet.

Christine Falls: Benjamin Black (Quirke Mysteries, 1

We're here to teach you more about hiking, let you in on our personal favorite hikes, and give you all of the tips to get you on the trail. A more challenging and involved hike, this stop is one for those who take their waterfall sightseeing seriously, but it’s certainly worth the payoff of catching rainbows in the spray at the waterfall’s base. Christine Falls

While Christine Falls can be viewed from the road year-round, the trail to the lower viewpoint is snow covered and hazardous during the winter. Looking for that classic post hike burger or pizza with beer? Find it at the Rainier Basecamp Bar and Grill in Ashford. Park in the area that looks like a pullout near the trailhead. Because this is a small area, plan ahead on your visit.

Christine Falls - U.S. National Park Service

The road between the Nisqually Entrance and Paradise (a little hamlet where a lot of tourist activity is at) crossed over Van Trump Creek between the upper and lower tiers of this waterfall. This is a trail that can be enjoyed in any weather, although Comet Falls is extra gorgeous when you see the top of it against the blue sky between evergreen trees! There is also a view of Mt Rainier in one spot along the trail when it’s clear. Comet Falls is even more dramatic against a blue sky Once you’ve reached the waterfall, stop and enjoy a picnic lunch or allow the kids to wade in the water. Although this is the furthest waterfall near Seattle (I know, it’s a long way. But hear me out.), I promise it’s so worth the visit. On top of all of these beauties, we can’t forget about the hundreds of waterfalls that are scattered around the Evergreen State. Enjoy the sights or take in the sounds of Christine Falls which is located approximately half-way between the Nisqually Entrance and Paradise, along the road to Paradise. Drive 4.5 miles east from Longmire, just past the the Comet Falls parking area, to reach the Christine Falls pullouts. There is a small pullout on either side of the bridge over the falls. The best way to view this waterfall is to park and walk down the short path to the overlook below the stone bridge. Christine Falls bridge is very narrow and busy, use caution and watch for vehicles when crossing or viewing the waterfall from the bridge. The path can be very icy and hazardous during winter.

Featured in the television show Twin Peaks, the Snoqualmie Falls are perhaps some of the most well-known waterfalls in the state! If you are considering continuing up the trail beyond Comet Falls to Van Trump Park (which has excellent wildflowers in season), plan on the end of July or early August.

are intended as resources to aid individual readers and book groups who would like to learn more about the author and this book. We hope that this guide will provide you a starting place for discussion, and suggest a variety of perspectives from which you might approach Christine Falls. Continue walking until you reach the best viewpoint, which is right in front of the falls, near the edge of the mossy cliffs. Like the other Mount Rainier-based waterfalls listed here, Myrtle Falls is about a 2-hour-and-30-minute drive from Seattle, which will feel like nothing after a long day of exploring the mountain!
