About this deal

For much of this book Christian and Ana are in a good place. Christian exorcised a lot of his demons in the last book so he was much more open and freer with showing his love for Ana throughout much of this book. One of my favorite “shades of Christian”, playful Christian, made many appearances in this book so that was a lot of fun to read. Of course ever the mercurial one, he still dealt with his control issues and these extreme controlling tendencies become even more extreme in this book when Ana’s safety is at stake. This naturally results in some drama and several fights between him and Ana, who is ever the independent one. But I think for the most part they dealt with their issues well and continued to grow and learn each time. For fans of Fifty Shades of Grey and Bared to You comes an erotic, emotionally charged romance between a powerful man who’s never heard “no” and a fiery woman who says “yes” on her own terms. Once again E. L. James has not disappointed. The critics pounce, not having a clue what makes this series so addictive for women. Even many women have no idea why they are so fixated on Christian Grey. Millions of copies sold to women who normally don't respond to graphic sexual description in print should give these erudite critics enough of a clue to re-think what James does that compels women to buy book after book. And guess what? We will keep on buying and buying, even if the faults of the books beg us to rewrite them for her. Grey gives the die-hard fans exactly what they have been waiting for (some of us years) a chance to revisit their favourite story and characters and finally see and experience both sides of the story. I loved it, every single moment, I will happily recommend it to anyone and everyone who is a fan of this series, it’s a must read for all 50 fans! EL James has just given us yet 1000 more reasons to fall in love all over again. Her quirky writing style is present in Grey and even though some critics will more than likely vehemently disagree with me, I’ve become addicted to the unconventional and unique way she approaches and carries out a story. Emotional, haunting, funny, overwhelmingly sexy and impossibly addictive Grey met my every expectation and even gave me just a bit more. I also loved re-reading the Shades of Christian bonus at the end, it was so awesome getting in his head during their first meeting and when he showed up at Clayton’s. You really get to see how much Ana affected him right from the start and how confused he was by this attraction and infatuation. I’m really curious to see how much of that is portrayed in the movie!

WOMEN ENVY THE WOMAN WHO POSSESSES HIM. He is so beautiful and rich that other women desire him. James exploits this fact to the fullest. Women want to possess something that makes other women envious. Women want to be desired by a man that is desired by other women. We can be very very shallow creatures. Christian Grey exercises control in all things; his world is neat, disciplined, and utterly empty—until the day that Anastasia Steele falls into his office, in a tangle of shapely limbs and tumbling brown hair. He tries to forget her, but instead is swept up in a storm of emotion he cannot comprehend and cannot resist. Unlike any woman he has known before, shy, unworldly Ana seems to see right through him—past the business prodigy and the penthouse lifestyle to Christian's cold, wounded heart. James has captured this archetypical man for us and put him in the modern world. Many serious and not-so-serious writers try but fail and we get literary crap or porn or shallow attempts at romance. She has done it without having an educated literary skill or technique. And she is learning. I will continue to buy every book she writes. Sample from chapter 11: The only man I've ever been attracted to, and he comes with a bloody contract, a flogger, and a whole world of issues. Well, at least I got my way this weekend. My inner goddess stops and smiles serenely. Oh yes... She mouths, nodding at me smugly. I flush at the memoryBut curious readers aren’t those for whom James is writing. She says so, dedicating the book to “those readers who asked . . . and asked . . . and asked . . . and asked for this.” She’s writing for the acolytes, and one imagines the truest of fans reading with fervor Ana’s dog-eared story in one hand, Christian’s in the other, finally, finally gaining access to his impenetrable mystery. But Christian knows a relationship with Ana will not be easy, and that being together will pose challenges that neither of them would anticipate. Just when it seems that their strength together will eclipse any obstacle, misfortune, malice, and fate conspire to turn Ana and Christian's deepest fears into reality. I really enjoy this series of books! I read the 50 Shades of Grey books when they first came out and I was first in line to see the movies. They all did not disappoint.

Sample from chapter 26: This is a man in need. His fear is naked and obvious, but he's lost...Somewhere in his darkness. His eyes are wide and bleak and tortured. I can soothe him, join him briefly in the darkness and bring him into the light. Christian Grey exercises control in all things; his world is neat, disciplined, and utterly empty―until the day that Anastasia Steele falls into his office, in a tangle of shapely limbs and tumbling brown hair. He tries to forget her, but instead is swept up in a storm of emotion he cannot comprehend and cannot resist. Unlike any woman he has known before, shy, unworldly Ana seems to see right through him―past the business prodigy and the penthouse lifestyle to Christian's cold, wounded heart. She doesn’t know the depth of my depravity, the darkness in my soul, the monster beneath – maybe I should leave her alone. I’m not worthy of her. She can’t love me. But even as I think the words, I know that I don’t have the strength to stay away from her…if she’ll have me.”Well, obviously I could go on and on, but here's one little bit right after he leaves the hardware store and gets in his car, just to give you a good idea of the rest of the book: I now see Christian clearer, and as I originally thought, much of the negative feeling about Christian was due to Ana simply being too immature, and sometimes, even thoughtless. In fact, if Christian had known her thoughts, his opinion about her may have changed drastically. She simply couldn't see how much pain he was in when she tried to touch him. So, she constantly kept trying to even though he constantly begged her not to. And she kept on about Elena, and at this point of their relationship, he was right. It was none of Ana's business. Sample from chapter 23 - "Oh ana," Christian whispers, his voice anguished and pained. "I thought I'd lost you. Then I thought I'd lost you again. Seeing you lying on the ground, pale and cold and unconscious, it was all my worst fears realized. And now here you are, brave and strong...giving me hope. Loving me after all that I've done. "Yes, I do love you Christian desperately. I always will." Gently taking my head between his hands, he wipes my tears away with his thumbs. He gazes into my eyes, gray to blue, and all I see is his fear, and wonder, and love. "I love you, too," He breathes. And he kisses me sweetly, tenderly, like a man who adores his wife.
