I love talking to people and being involved in making a difference to the residents in our home in any way I can. In-patient Unit Primary care givers are admitted forpublic and private in-patient mentalhealth assessment and treatment whilesupporting parent-baby attachment We take referrals from family and friends following a bereavement. Our trained volunteer bereavement support workers will always try to meet your needs through a relationship that is built on trust.We offer a programme of support and activities designed to enhance the wellbeing of people affected by life-limiting illness. The service is run by a multi-professional team, including a nurse, healthcare assistant, chaplain, social worker, physiotherapist and lymphoedema specialist nurse. Living Well also provides carer support. We're looking for volunteers to help us co-ordinate some of our fabulous Christmas events. Can you spare some time and support the fundraising team this year? Whether you access care from the public health system or have private health insurance, Catherine’s House for Mothers, Babies and Families delivers a range of services for all women. Our community clinical nurse specialists specialise in palliative care in the community. Our hospice community services enhance the care already available in the community and not everyone needs to visit the hospice itself. Mental wellbeing plays a vital role in your ability to develop confidence and connection as a parent. I have 35 years experience working in different care settings specialising in mental health/psychology, dementia, residential/nursing care of the elderly. My role is to provide support with the management of the home, delivering the highest standards of care/support that our residents deserve.It can be a difficult time for the families when a relative moves into a care home but we are here to help and support both the families and the residents at this time. Our priority is to ensure that residents are comfortable and happy at Griffiths and Katherine House and that their families are reassured by the level of the care and support we provide. I manage an extensive training/assessment, competency programme for staff to ensure they have skills and knowledge to deliver exceptional care to highest of standards. It is important to me that our residents receive the best quality of life through daily fulfilment, excellent care and services and a home where they feel valued, respected, empowered and treated as a unique individual with their own wishes and choices, creating a home from home environment. I have worked in Social Care for 26 years and have a variety of experience in elderly/Dementia, learning disabilities and mental health settings. This included 15 years working for South Gloucestershire council in all their residential care home homes, five years at Frenchay House residential care home and working as a strategic manager for another Charity.

We continue to be here when people need us most, providing care when it is required, where it is required, be that in the hospice, in the home or in the hospital. Catherine’s House for Mothers, Babies and Families is Queensland’s first integrated perinatal mental health centre. Parents can stay with their babies at the Catherine’s House dedicated In-patient Unit while receiving support and treatment from our specialist team of mental health clinicians including psychiatrists, allied health, nurses, peer workers and other professionals. The Care Quality Commission recently inspected Katherine House and found us to be compliant in all areas, awarding us, in August 2019, with a 'GOOD' CQC care rating in Safe, Effective, Caring and Well led, and OUTSTANDING in Responsive. Without the support of the community, we couldn’t provide the physiotherapy or social work, the well-being relaxation classes, the specially made home cooked meals, the one-to-one social care, the bereavement support, the arts and crafts, the fun and laughter.
