Smoking is not cool, glamorous, or sophisticated. Smoking is an addiction and a disease. It has no part to play in my life. I am responsible for what I do, what I tell myself I can and cannot do, and what I believe about myself. No one can share this responsibility with me.

I've been in a mood to change up the type of books I read and this seemed like a fun one! I drink coffee/tea every day so I thought, why not! Many of the tips in here are pretty easy to implement; a lot of it was affirmations. For those that look for constant ways to keep things positive and find the silver lining in everything, this is easy to do. And surfing them with ease is a critical part to the “happy” part of the Happy Sexy Millionaire equation. In fact, the reason I put the word happy first is because, when you are happy, then you’re feeling elevated emotions.And when you’re feeling elevated emotions, you’re putting out energy to attract more juicy awesomeness into your life. I am focused on my goal to lose weight and maintain a healthy weight. I do not need to be reminded of my goal.Perfectionism. Keeping impossible standards and trying to be more perfect sets yourself up for failure.

The execution of the book was not necessarily my favorite. I thought that the language was a bit over the top at times and cringy. My biggest pet peeve was probably referencing research without like citing the research. I really think this book would have benefited if it did go into more in-depth of the type of research that the author had done. But I also don’t necessarily think that was her intention in writing this book to be a scientific and research base. She’s just really here to sell an idea and she did that. I’m not necessarily fond of books trying to sell itself. I carry myself with pride. My experiences have made me who I am and have given me experience and perspective. There is no problem that is unsolvable. I am a capable person granted wisdom, intelligence, and resources to solve problems that I will encounter during life’s journey.I am stronger than my problems. There is no problem that I cannot overcome for I am an intelligent, positive, and determined person. Kristen's energy is very infectious, and I was totally enthralled by the prospect of pairing my morning beverage (I'm a coffee snob) with making magical things happen in my life. There isn't enough fun literature out there testifying to the magic of coffee! So I bought this immediately thinking there would be new attestations to the wonders of enjoying coffee in the morning light, and how we may practise gratitude with such a pleasing daily ritual. If you tend to have a negative outlook, don't expect to become an optimist overnight. But with practice, eventually your self-talk will contain less self-criticism and more self-acceptance. You may also become less critical of the world around you.

I keep my mind focused on good, wholesome, positive, constructive, and productive thoughts. My mind does not have space for negativity or worry. I don't know. I think the repetitiveness of reading coffee and self talk throughout the book about a million times got to me.I have reserves of fortitude, character positivity, and confidence in myself. I can take on the world.
