Personally I think the best 80 compression golf ball is the Titleist AVX. This is a premium ball, at the same level of the Pro V1 and I love it. It's super long and barely moves in the air with long irons. Try it out, trust me. Best 90 compression golf balls
A: For the high-speed driver portion of the test, we laid out a grid system to spot the actual carry distance of each shot as it landed. On the advice of ball manufacturers, we then applied the USGA’s Bounce and Roll formula to arrive at a total distance number. I play the Volvik S4 as it matches my swing speed and my needs around the green. This high compression golf ball wouldn't suit many of my playing partners and they would get similar performance from a cheaper two piece ball. In the interest of using language that should be familiar to most golfers, most of the longer balls offer what we’d call a penetrating flight (some are high and penetrating, others are flatter and penetrating). The TP5 is more of an up and down kind of thing.Again, the list of fastest balls includes a good mix of firm balls like the Maxfli Tour X, Callaway Chrome Soft X and Titleist Pro V1x Left Dash and mid-compression offerings (by the standards of this test) like the Titleist Pro V1 and TaylorMade TP5 to slightly softer offerings like the OnCore ELIXR and Titleist AVX. While the data suggest low-compression balls can’t match the speed of firmer balls, the Callaway Chrome Soft qualifies as a faster soft option under our test conditions.

Of the top 10 longest balls under the conditions tested, the Mizuno RB Tour X and Srixon Z-Star Diamond produced the highest trajectory. For those seeking soft, the Bridgestone TOUR B RX, Titleist AVX, and Bridgestone TOUR B RXS were the longest of the soft crowd. Even though the Kirkland’s overall compression is considered to be a bit high, the compression of the core is rather soft. This will help to give the ball an overall soft feel when playing those short iron shots into the green. Golfers of all skill levels will benefit from playing the right ball for their golf game.
