About this deal

One of the biggest changes under the Care Act means that people who look after an adult relative or friend with care needs will have the same right to assessment and support as the people they care for. The councils have also produced a leaflet called Carers and the Care Act to explain more:-

Overall, ACT blends mindfulness throughout the process and provides many opportunities for therapists and clients to hone their skills in accepting the meanderings of their minds. It is an intuitively mindfulness-based therapy and can be a good fit for therapists and coaches interested in integrating the concept into their work. We won't have much of a journey if we simply stare at the compass; our journey only happens when we move our arms and legs in our chosen direction. PDF / EPUB File Name: ACT_Made_Simple_-_Russ_Hayes_Steven_C_Harris.pdf, ACT_Made_Simple_-_Russ_Hayes_Steven_C_Harris.epub It is integrated throughout the process, coming through most clearly in the present moment, cognitive defusion, and self-as-context aspects of the treatment. I know this is made for therapists but I’m neither a psychologist nor a psychiatrist and I think everyone should read this book! I’ve read a ton of book on mindfulness and Buddhist teachings and this by far has exceeded my expectations because it is more than a mindfulness book. It has very PRACTICAL advice and lays you down the CONCRETE STEPS you need to do to practice it and live the best life you can!We don't just talk in these sessions; we actually practice psychological skills so you can learn how to handle all those difficult thoughts and feelings more effectively.

We all have a limited supply of energy. If we are continually struggling to suppress these dark parts, how can we focus on making changes in the present moment? By trying to control these problematic thoughts and feelings, the client gives up control of their behavior. The ACT therapist gradually encourages patterns of effective behavior that are linked to the client’s values. This is often spoken about as the last step in the process, since it takes time to problem solve and understand what behaviors and internal processes need attention. Psychological flexibility is a set of skills that allow us to be connected to the present moment while acting on longer term values instead of shorter term impulses. It is a person’s ability to change their thinking and behavior when it is not serving them. The team in charge of your treatment can't give your family information about you without asking you first. You can choose what they share. This is called giving consent. Adventure: to be adventurous; to actively seek, create, or explore novel or stimulating experiences.

There is no time to control our behavior but the present moment, although our minds often take us to the past and future to ruminate on mistakes or make plans. Many people don't like the sound of “homework.” It carries all sorts of negative connotations. I prefer the term “practice” or “experiment.” Why is it so hard to be happy? Why is life so difficult? Why do humans suffer so much? And what can we realistically do about it? No matter how rewarding your job, as a mental health professional, you may sometimes feel helpless in the face of these questions. You are also well-aware of the challenges and frustrations that can present during therapy.
