I am pleasantly surprised by how much I loved it. I thought it was going to but just a fun read to finish the Halloween season but it was so much more than that! At first I thought I wasn’t going to like it because there were a few moments of immaturity within the dialog but that fortunately didn’t carry throughout the book. Lucifer has a throne to uphold and nothing can distract him from making all of his subjects fear and respect him. He tries to keep his distance from the one person in Hell who has made him feel again, but the temptation keeps growing. Maybe, just for her, he can show his soft side. When certain things were revealed, they did feel a little rushed. Some things I’ve been anticipating throughout the book as well as some surprising revelations just didn’t have the development I wanted from it and was kind of a let down. Theodore Roethke, ‘ My Papa’s Waltz’. In this poem, whose rhythm echoes that of a waltz dance, Roethke recalls the time he danced with his father in their kitchen. He remembers the smell of whiskey on his father’s breath and his mother’s disapproving stares as she looks on. the romance? Ahhh! So this was a super fun spooky season read. I really enjoyed Charming Your Dad; it just hit the spot with excellent spice, great characters and paranormal goodness. This isn’t me. I don’t call men daddy, I don’t let them see the real me. I’m all hard shells, strap-ons, and a good time. I loved the characters, the story was so good I wanted more, and the steam was scorching!! Dax was so sexy and just pushed all my buttons. He is getting added to my top tier of favorite book boyfriends of all time, and this book was definitely one of my favorites of the year. I highly recommend! Dang, I'm really bummed right now because I really want more, or at least wish this was a series with another book coming. Let's hope. 🤞🤞 Dad is immediately taken with Blair, and once she turns on the charm, he’s a goner. Her magic speaks to his and he’s determined to spend time with her. Why isn’t everyone reading this rn??? It’s the perfect smutty spooky season paranormal book I’ve read in so long. I loved the FMC Blaire. She was strong willed, independent and didn’t take shit from anyone. But she wasn’t cruel or one of those characters that says she’s tough but has no follow through. I also loved Dax. He was serious and hot but again, wasn’t an asshole. Which was nice to see. I still love my alpha-holes as much as the next person but I like to change it up! The one thing for certain is that there’s no stopping this formidable demon from getting what she wants, even if she doesn’t seem to know what her own end game is.
