Nvidia's GeForce RTX 3070 Ti is used as the dedicated graphics unit, which has access to 8 GB of GDDR6 VRAM. Performance is at a high level thanks to the most powerful variant (125 watt TGP, including Dynamic Boost), which is not necessarily what you would expect from a compact and lightweight 16-inch convertible. With the laptop sitting on the desk and in the games that scale well with Dynamic Boost, we’re looking at temperatures in the low-80s C on the CPU side, but 85+ on the GPU side, with a slight GPU thermal throttling. This is minor, and doesn’t affect the performance in a noticeable way. The fans ramp up to about 45-46 dB at head-level on this Turbo mode. There’s a 90Wh battery inside this Flow X16, just like on all other 2022 ROG Strix and Zephyrus models, which is excellently sized for a portable design. Asus uses a lot of magnesium, so the device feels very high-quality overall. However, the lid and base plate are made of soft plastic and are especially susceptible to scratches. There isn’t much to say about the keyboard. The buttons are fast, they’ve got 1.7mm of travel, and they’ve got a satisfying and consistent typing action – you can hammer away for hours, especially thanks to the machine’s impressive build quality.The CPU performance is still alright, at 80-85% of Turbo mode, while the GPU is at about 70-75% of what this configuration can do on Turbo. Gaming performance Thing is, the performance difference between these three scenarios is within a few percent, so the only noticeable benefit of the Manual mode is the fact that it allows a decrease in temperatures, something worth considering if you’re going to run demanding CPU loads for long periods of time on this device. Content looks even more appealing with DisplayHDR 1000 enabled, compared to previous laptops which only supported HDR 400 with significantly lower image enhancements. The only other laptops with DisplayHDR 1000 so far have been the MSI Creator 17 (2020) and Apple's MacBook Pro 16 (2021). Lenovo's Legion Slim 7i with a mini-LED display should also be available later this year.

I am a fan of this particular laptop (2022 Asus X16 RTX 3060) and even bought two for my family. While Armoury Crate has been fine for me, some strongly dislike it. Fortunately, there is an alternative in a third-party app named G-Helper which is a lightweight replacement. It's made by an individual developer – and being an IT professional myself – I can say he has done an amazing job with G-Helper.
