About this deal

The Layrite Superhold is also different because it produces a shine, unlike the matte finish of the Suavecito Pomade.

All you do after reading is to choose one. Or buy one. Whatever comes to mind first. The review comes first. And then I’ll compare them. First, we’re going to review this product and the next before attempting to compare them. I know you’ll stay with me while I undress this product. Let’s start: What’s the Product About? Are you tired of weak pomades that don’t have the balls to keep your hair looking its best all day? These two can happen but only if you choose the right pomade. Fortunately for you, there are two great brands in the house. Either way, whatever difficult to manage style you’re trying to achieve these pomades are amongst the best of the best when it comes to quality, control, and incredible hold.

This gives it an upper hand over many other brands, especially considering that it’s affordable. However, you need to not overuse it, else, it’ll lead to flaking of your hair.

While usage will vary depending on your look and style, I find that you don’t need to use a lot of this pomade to achieve a strong, all-day hold. If you’re looking for a more natural look and feel with a little bit of flexibility, you’ll find that just a dollop will do. If you’re going for the solid “helmet hair” look, a few extra scoops of this stuff is more than capable of getting you there. To each his own. Lastly, it can wash out easily with water. I’m putting this here in case I’ve not mentioned it before. Both brands will deliver superior hold and scent. However, it’s easy to see fanboys and girls taking sides. If you’re more inclined to one of them, go with it and you wouldn’t be too wrong. If you answered yes to either of these questions, then this list of best strong hold pomades is definitely for you my friend. Both brands will deliver superior hold and scent. However, it’s easy to see fanboys and girls taking sides. After talking with Mike about their grooming spray he gave me a technique he uses that works great for him with that one combined with this stuff. So I let my hair completely dry the second day, then re-wet my hair with the grooming spray. After the spray I applied the super hold, per Mike’s instructions. He said it makes the application a little easier and adds a little bit of hold. Once I put the pomade in I noticed that it was actually harder to put in and distribute for me. Combing was almost twice as difficult and took twice as long and I noticed ALOT of hairs got ripped out using this method. I did notice that the pomade distributed quite a bit more evenly and I didn’t have to scoop multiple times. So for me it’s not really that much more of a help, but Mike definitely knows his products so I’d suggest trying it. It might work for you like it does for him, but for me it didn’t really work.

Conventional water-based pomades can be very tough and can even dry out your hair. So, be thankful if you get one that won’t make your hair dense and useless. In terms of quality, both Layrite and Suavecito are similar. They are so good too many barbers are recommending them. If your barber hasn’t then don’t worry too much. You can get a good one if he isn’t helping. Opening this tub up you see a pinkish matte looking gel. This one has lots of bubbles on the surface and is not see through like their deluxe was. It has more of a look like the JS Sloane pomades. The color reminds me of pink lemonade or grapefruit juice. The matte goop doesn’t smell like either of those though. It has a slight vanilla scent to it. I also think it smells like play dough. Like vanilla play dough. No one else I have talked to that has used it thinks that, but I do so I had to write it. It’s also easy to use. In as little as four steps (taking it out, applying it on the palms, scrubbing on the hair, and styling as you wish), the pomade promises to keep your hair in a steady curl balance. Is It for You? These unorthodox pomades just don’t dry out your hair or something. Don’t worry though, most people start with Layrite and gradually go for superior quality as they learn more about what to look for in a pomade. It’ll also go on all hair lengths. And for the best results, make sure you blow-dry and ensure your hair dries properly. One of the things that makes Firme Hold so great (and so popular) is how easy it is to work with. It effortlessly scoops from the jar, it breaks down in the hands incredibly easy, and even though it’s a strong hold pomade – it works through the hair with ease.

In terms of quality, both Layrite and Suavecito are similar. They are so good too many barbers are recommending them.Suavecito, on the other hand, is better for those looking for pomade to use on wet hair with a low sheen. How would you feel when you walk outside and the wind blows your hair in a spectacular kind of way? What about the moment you’re driving, with windows down, and not having to chase your hair around? The Layrite Superhold is a pomade that comes in a similar size to the Suavecito that is designed for difficult-to-manage hair as well as demanding styles.
