Comic Natalie (in Japanese). Natasha, Inc. October 4, 2021. Archived from the original on November 13, 2021 . Retrieved November 13, 2021. Fujimoto commented that he wanted to "draw manga like Korean films", citing the 2008 South Korean film The Chaser as example, stating: "the main character chases after the villain, but thirty minutes into the movie, he catches him. This is supposed to happen at the end of the movie, so you keep wondering what will happen next. A lot of people say that in Korean movies they cannot tell what the director is thinking, but actually, if you watch until the end, you will get it. I wanted to make something like that." [56] He also mentioned the 2016 Japanese film Sadako vs. Kayako, Kōji Shiraishi's film series Senritsu Kaiki File Kowasugi! [ ja], [57] the 2011 Indonesian film The Raid and Takeshi Kitano's work. [58] He was also influenced by manga authors Hiroaki Samura, [56] Hideki Arai, [57] and Tsutomu Nihei. [8] Works [ edit ] Serialized manga [ edit ]

Comic Natalie (in Japanese). Natasha, Inc. March 28, 2022. Archived from the original on March 28, 2022 . Retrieved March 28, 2022. in classic fujimoto fashion, of course there has to be some kind of break. and through this break, fujino gets to know regret. and hast to find a, also classically fujimoto-esque, funny but also deeply touching way to deal with these newfound feelings, this regret to ever let kyoumoto become dependent and then again gain independence from her. Surprisingly Sudden Death: Kyomoto and 11 others at her art school are killed by a random act of violence by a delusional man halfway through the one shot. The remainder of the story is centered on Fujino dealing with the grief of losing Kyomoto.

Statistics

Lady Looks Like a Dude: Fujino and Kyomoto both dress and look very androgynous when they're young (their grade school apparently doesn't have uniforms). One could easily assume either was male until they're shown in female clothing, which for Kyomoto takes nearly half the oneshot's length. All the characters in the story are masterfully represented to be likeable and also relatable to many people going in the same path as them and how they are represented growing up just adds to the storytelling. The only problem I had is that the story wasnt longer because it almost felt like we were just getting to know the girls before the final act. It’s a manga about doing films made by film lovers for film fans. When it was made available online for free, the framing and directing just blew me away considering it was just a one-shot manga, and the methods used for the manga are also incredible. Like how the author put together every piece of a scene in such a beautiful way. This time around, I was able to fully appreciate Tatsuki Fujimoto’s distinctive mood and aftertaste. It’s just that good of a one-shot manga. a b c 第66回 小学館漫画賞が 決定いたしました!![66th Shogakukan Manga Award – It has been decided!!] (PDF) (in Japanese). Shogakukan. After realising this was about precocious high schoolers discovering the joy of creating manga together, I was expecting a Bakuman-style comic - and if that was all we got, I wouldn’t have minded because that first volume of Bakuman at least is amazing. But I appreciated that Fujimoto took his story in a wildly different direction in the second half, even if he did so in a very clunky way. Oricon (in Japanese). Creator Thumbprint: Fujimoto's love of movies and especially the movie theater experience makes its obligatory appearance when Fujino and Kyomoto's day out in the city includes going to the movies. So for those who wanted to avoid spoilers I'll say that the story was beautifully written and had many emotional scenes , so if you want to read a one shot ,it definetely worths your time If I’m going to serialize in Shonen Jump Plus, I’d like to do something that Weekly Shonen Jump can’t do, something like anti-jump” Reclusive Artist: invoked A major theme of the story. Kyomoto stopped attending school from a very young age, apparently due to anxiety and agoraphobia, and took up drawing to pass the time. It's also shown how Fujino's dedication to making manga isolates her from her friends and family. After Kyomoto's death, Fujino questions if art ruined their lives, and if her friendship led to Kyomoto's attending art school and being killed.Pineda, Rafael Antonio (December 9, 2020). Loners Are Freaks: A significant part of the one-shot centers on how lonely making art can be. Fujino as a child is shown to be a relatively normal and outgoing, but starts to be ostracized by her friends and has a more distant relationship with her family as she becomes fixated on being a good artist. Even when she becomes friends with Kyomoto, their lives revolve around making art, and Fujino questions if sacrificing so much for it mattered at all after Kyomoto's death. I was a little bit confused in the middle of the end, and when I continued reading it (gently scrolling) to the point where I understand what Fujimoto Sensei is trying to tell the readers That moment I realized and talking to myself why tf did I choose a public coffee shop to read such an emotional manga, and I'm trying so hard to hold my tears not to fall in front of people and I did it,good on me.
