About this deal

The movie on the other hand was how the book should've been written, slowly paced enough so you could fall for the characters but not so slow that you lost interest. This is definitely a case where I like the movie better than the book.

The side characters were so cute and I loved them all. I loved Ruby and her siblings and his siblings and Katie and Josh as well.Alex's family had to move to the US being his dad got a good job offer there. So Alex and Rosie got separated, their only form of communications were mails, letters, and IM's. Rosie was heartbroken. She had feelings for Alex for a long time, but was too scared to admit it. She was too scared to lose her best friend.

What I really loved about this book was the kids. Katie, Toby and Josh. Their letters/postcards/whatever were so funny and sweet, all their grammatical errors made me laugh my lungs out!

It took a long time, but the ending just made me really happy, contented, and just... i dunno how to explain it. It made me believe that if two people are meant to be together, fate will find a way for them to be. I, also surprisingly, found the ending of the MOVIE to be more fulfilling than the book's ending. While in the book they are both 50, Rosie's at her hotel and Alex is now divorced and coming to FINALLY admit his love for her, it ends with just Rosie hearing a familiar voice. That's it. 50 years of following their story (It honestly felt like I had 50 years taken from me) and it doesn't end with a, "I've always loved you. Spend the rest of your life with me!" It ends with Rosie just hearing Alex's voice and telling us that it was one that she has known for all her life. From the bestselling author of PS, I Love You comes a delightfully enchanting novel about what happens when two people who are meant to be together just can't seem to get it right. It was torture getting to the final chapter where everything worked out how I wanted it to but I was left feeling unfilfilled.

I'll get straight to the point because if I don't say what I have to say now, I fear it will never be said. And I need to say it. What the movie depicted was totally different from the book. It doesn’t mean the movie was no good but it simply the book was better. The way Cecelia portrayed the relationship between Alex and Rosie was just torturous and it was unbelievable how many chances they had missed on each other(yes, way worse than the movie!). And Alex’s letter! OMG. I love that letter, those words!

Toby Quinn: Katie's best friend and their relationship is very similar to the relationship Alex and Rosie had as children. Toby and Katie lose touch and meet after several years where they realize they were always meant to be more than friends. First of all, if you’ve watched the movie, never trust it! You gotta read the book! Like it’s a must! Volver a releer este libro fue una de las mejores decisiones que tomé últimamente. Amo esta historia y a sus personajes con todo mi corazón. Katie Dunne: Rosie's daughter, Katie has a best friend in the book called Toby and their relationship mirrors the relationship that Alex and Rosie had as children. As she gets older her relationship with Toby changes and it teaches Rosie about her real feelings for Alex.

Plot Summary: Alex and Rosie have been best friends since they were kids. Everyone could see how fond of they were of each other, even though Alex and Rosie couldn't. Alex applies for a scholarship at Harvard to be a doctor, and Alex applies to a Boston University to study her dream career; A hotel manager. Everything seems perfect and will work their way, until Alex can't take Rosie to the Debs (Debutante Ball? I dunno...I'm not Irish) and she has to find her own date for the night, which turns out to be a guy known to them as, 'Brian the Whine'. But I guess I can go by that since I unexpectedly enjoyed the exchange letters! It was really fun, actually, even though I may have cried a little at the beginning (I know, SO NOT ME). I was just sad when Alex had to move to Boston missing the debs and the chance of rescuing his best friend from the "worst" night of her life (in hindsight it wasn't that bad). Katie (who is 12 at this instance) had brought along her best-friend Toby on the trip. The two remind Alex and Rosie of their childhood. Toby tries kissing Katie and she doesn't respond positively to it. Alex and Rosie calm down Katie and Alex tells her that if she doesn't respond to him correctly now, she will regret it for the rest of her life and keep looking for people who will just fail to be as good-enough for her. Alex reminds Rosie of her 18th birthday where the two actually kissed before she passed out. Unbeknownst to you I took this chance before, many, many years ago. You never received that letter and I'm glad because my feelings since then have changed dramatically. They have intensified with every passing day.
