Santa's Grotto is one of our most loved festive experiences at Dobbies and with garden centres across Scotland, you're sure to find one near you. Here's a round-up of events for families to enjoy. Don't delay in booking as some grottos, like the one at Brookfields Garden Centre in Mapperley, are already sold out.
There are lots of Santa Grottos to enjoy in and around Birmingham and the West Midlands. You can meet Father Christmas at a garden centre or museum or pay him a visit at a big attraction where there are lots of additional activities to enjoy. This year there's an all new Santa Show plus you can play and slide around in Santa’s Christmas Snow Trail. The trail features snow slides, fun displays and falling snow! Take a walk through the 'enchanted forest', enjoy a fun game of snowballs, hitch a ride on a sledge and have fun sliding about in the snow tubes. The only Santa steam train experience in London, the Santa Steam Express sets off on a festive journey from Victoria station, including a chance to meet the big man himself on board. You can meet Father Christmas in the Great Hall and see Blakesley dressed for Christmas on December 10 and 11 from 11am to 4.30pm. Children can write a letter to Santa and post it in the Christmas Polar post box.It's not quite the temperature of the North Pole but it's the chilliest spot in Nottingham to visit Santa and enjoy a whole host of Yuletide events. Skaters can join festive characters on the ice and have a photo with them on Saturday, December 17. When: From November 17, 2023 to January 1, 2024. There’s a brand new grotto experience in Mayfair this year which has the added Christmassy bonus of spreading some joy and helping those less fortunate. After being cancelled two years running because of Covid, it also didn’t take place in 2022, so there’s no guarantee he’ll return for 2023 either.This is a new grotto experience for Planters in Tamworth! Harrods is located in Knightsbridge, a beautifully picturesque area to explore in Central London. If you’re travelling by public transport, take the Piccadilly Line to Knightsbridge tube station, then it’s a short walk to Harrods.
