About this deal

As with every modification to your motorcycle, if you are not confident undertaking the work it is always a better idea to take your motorcycle and the indicators to a qualified mechanic. It's very easy to apply a bit of pressure with a small tipped screwdriver to the top of the leg of the IC, and it will snap off.

Indicator/Flasher Relay 3 pin (Original and LED Indicators)

When you fit LED indicators you adjust the wattage of the system and therefore need a new relay to suit (Or fit resistors).

Some people choose to fit load resistors to imitate the load of the incandescent (standard) bulbs that they have just removed. Suitable for many other classic or modern 12v cars or applications with standard filament / incandescent bulbs or LEDs or a mix of filament / incandescent bulbs and LED. Plug and play, even for a Caterham novice I got my indicators working immediately, and it’s future proof for the (inevitable) upgrades to LED lamps. The reason for this is that conventional flasher relays work by detecting how much current is being drawn by the indicator bulbs. The relay will switch on and off at a set speed regardless of the current load or whether the indicators are LED or conventional bulbs or a mix of the two.

12V ELECTRONIC INDICATOR FLASHER / HAZARD RELAY CLASSIC CAR

As title tittle I neeed a LED indicator relay as my indicators are flashing too fast after putting some triumph indicators on the rear, they are bulbs tho and front has mini bulb indicators so it's strange. The voltage regulator/ flasher relay can be located in different places depending on which moped you have. On the Gilera Stalker used for this blog it is located behind the front fairing panel (behind the headlight). Please ensure you have a suitable LED relay fitted to your Caterham when upgrading to any type of LED light. So, to slow your flashing down you have to make the wattage draw similar to how it was with the original indicators, and you can do this by fitting either a new indicator relay unit or with resistors. They look the same but have different components inside and the casing is made from an inferior plastic. Most Piaggio/ Gilera mopeds are fitted with an indicator relay which is built into the voltage regulator unit.
