About this deal

Seba's label Hydeout Productions released a tribute album titled Modal Soul Classics II featuring a number of former collaborators and with lyrics and song titles that reference Seba's work. All image and audio content is used by permission of the copyright holders or their agents, and/or according to fair dealing as per the UK Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988.

Sadly, the pressing was very bad and I don't know if this is just my experience or a widespread problem with this reissue of the LP Album. Before his tragic death in a car accident in 2010, beat-maker Nujabes was renowned as one of Japan's best exponents of hip-hop/jazz fusion. On October 21, 2020 Chester Watson released the album A Japanese Horror Film [21] featuring a track titled “Nujabes”. I own the original CD copies of these tracks and I think I like the sound of the records more, other than "World Without Words" but its bass is still awesome. Jun Seba ( Japanese: 瀬葉 淳, Hepburn: Seba Jun, February 7, 1974 – February 26, 2010), better known by his stage name Nujabes ( ヌジャベス, Nujabesu), was a Japanese record producer, audio engineer, DJ, composer and arranger best known for his atmospheric instrumental mixes sampling from hip hop, soul, and jazz, as well as incorporating elements of trip hop, breakbeat, downtempo, and ambient music.

Seba released two studio albums during his lifetime: Metaphorical Music (2003) and Modal Soul (2005), while the album Spiritual State was released posthumously in 2011. Could also be the CD-version on Discogs has the images added by somebody who added filters to pop the colours, I don't own the original CD release. Side A also had an abnormal amount of surface noise and eventual dirty on my stylus on the first playing even after a wet cleaning.Tribe" is now also a label that releases 7" records of songs by various friends and associates, such as Uyama Hiroto and Five Deez. Part 6 was not among the previously completed tracks, but it was released on February 26, 2013, on the third anniversary of Seba's death. It's somewhat odd at times hearing only one of the artists per side, instead of more a story-like performance given in the 3xLP release, though it also gives you more of a set listening environment for longer. Just like last year's press of Metaphorical Music, this reissue on wax is a huge success in terms of quality.
