So, the ShockStop Stem is not going to provide the same suspension feel as a typical mountain bike front fork suspension, which will have closer to 10-15cm of travel. handlebars, this stem has a +/- 6 degree angle, and with five elastomers included you can further customise your setup. However, with a weight from 264g to 298g, I was interested in seeing how it compared up to a traditional suspension fork.It is important for riders to consider their specific needs and preferences when choosing a stem for their bike, specificly bike fit. The other main option to compare against would be an increased tyre size, which can also increase comfort when set at suitable pressures. I think this is when I'd look to fit the Kinekt, for those longer jaunts – with all the frame bags mounted, the extra weight of the stem would be less noticeable too. One of the key characteristics of splay compliance is its tendency to change the geometry of either the bike or bike fit during its active phase.
