Squishmallows Pokémon 14-Inch Plush - Snorlax

Squishmallows (not just the Pokemon kind) remain a popular toy, if the constant stream of plush toy-related content on my TikTok is any indictation. Collectors own dozens to hundreds of Squishmallows, and the obsession has been compared to the Beanie Baby boom. Fortunately, she’s also easily pleased by anything Yoshi-related, creepy-but-cute Pokémon, and SEGA air pirates.

According to Squishmallow maker Jazwares, Snorlax and Togepi Squishmallows will be available on PokemonCenter. Squishmallows are super-soft plushies that feature animals, food and licensed brands with a chunky minimalized look. The Pokemon Squishmallows for Togepi and Snorlax will be available at the Pokemon Center as well as various retailers including Target and Walmart. Different size versions have appeared at Target and Walmart in recent months, as cataloged by folks on TikTok.The collaboration was teased earlier today ahead of San Diego Comic-Con and we already have some pictures of what the new line looks like! With the recent release of Pikachu and Gengar and all this new info on releases to come, it looks like 2023 is shaping up to be a banner year for Pokémon fans who can’t resist all things squishy and cute. These are Jazwares and The Pokémon Company’s first two Pokémon Squishmallows, as the company’s confirmed it’s going to make more.

Squishmallows are a popular plush toy series that first debuted in 2017, but took off in popularity during the height of the pandemic. Update (2/20/23): It looks like the release of Snorlax and Togepi is inching closer, Squishmallows fans! Presumably, these will come in all the same sizes as Pikachu and Gengar, which range from 10 inches up to 20 inches. Like the Pikachu and Gengar Squishmallows before them, the Pokémon Center release doesn’t mean that other retailers won’t be carrying Snorlax and Togepi down the line; we just don’t have any concrete info on when there will be a wider release (yet). Toy company Jazwares already makes Pokémon toys, and now they’re expanding their merchandise offerings by bringing Pokémon characters to their very popular line of plushies, Squishmallows!Given the success of these cute and cuddly stuffed Pokemon, we’ll likely hear about a third wave of Squishmallows in due time. That said, the one in your profile picture and those in your banner are definitely among my favorites in general, I love Squirtle, Eevee and its evolutions! What do you think about this first wave of Pokémon Squishmallows, or at least the two we’ve seen so far: Pikachu and Gengar? I know these are not very original choices, but I really forgot which ones I liked when I played Pokémon Gold and then Sapphire.
