I thought based on the blurb that this book wasa basic 'jiltedat the altar/runaway bride' trope, starring a pathetic sister who pinch hits on the DAYOF the wedding because she's been pining for the groom. Oh, and not to mention, was recently possessed by god-knows-what, into saying yes to helping her close friend get married to the love of her life. Of course as a bonafide Sebastian Yorky fan, I went into this to get my fix of his totally sexy narration and sure as hell got it. You have to read this one to understand how that plays out sinceit's 50% yearning, 25% cruelty/manipulation and 25% sex. All of that being said, I love that this series will follow all the siblings having an arranged marriage.
But plottwist, the malevolent sister who is a career obsessed,ragingnarcissist strings the mmc along for FIVE YEARS! Raven has been in love with Ares, her best friend’s older brother, her whole life while he was in a relationship and promised her sister Hannah. The language in the story was highly repetitive, the MMC was a spineless walkover, and the FMC was worse. I love listening to Sebastian York and he excelled himself with this one and his dirty talking hero! so yeah overall it was okay, go in without expecting the book to be great, it's just supposed to be what it is, an angsty, icky, melo-dramatic soap opera kinda book lol. Story line is more or less complete, but it would take a while till I publish the first few chapters! She has zero depth, is a whiny cry baby, and oh yeah - she is an underwear supermodel/fashion designer. Duo narration is the thing going forward … however (Lucy Rivers) the narrator of the female protagonist took something to get use too… (jury still out on her) 🤔 however, nothing Sebastian’s sexy voice can’t fix mmmm.Ares looks up and straightens when he notices me standing by the entrance, a smile transforming his face.
