As a knitter who wants to know as much about technique as possible, this stood out as very annoying to me; I know not every single aspect of, say, brioche, can be covered in a book like this, but I was hoping for more than two pages about it. With updated, revised, and fresh material throughout, 65 additional pages, and more than 1,600 photos and hand-drawn step-by-step illustrations , Vogue Knitting The Ultimate Knitting Book is surprisingly easy to navigate with thorough indexing and footnote cross-referencing.This isn't at all to say this isn't a worthwhile reference--I would highly recommend it, it's very well modernized from the previous two versions. For easy patterns to try when you’re starting out, it is often best to head to Ravelry, an online community for knitters and crocheters where you can find thousands of patterns for free or just a few dollars. I love the drawn techniques; they make so much more sense to me than descriptions or even watching YouTube videos.

With updated, revised, and new material throughout, 65 additional pages, and more than 1,600 photos and hand-drawn step-by-step illustrations, Vogue Knitting: The Ultimate Knitting Book, Completely Revised and Updated is surprisingly easy to navigate with thorough indexing and footnote cross-referencing. This book clearly can't cover all cast ons and bind off's as seen in another popular reference either and I wouldn't expect it to unless it ran to a considerably larger book. It's just inspiring to dig into these chapters, and it's nice to know that I'll always have this book to turn to when in need. With updated, revised, and new material throughout, more than 70 additional pages, and more than 1,600 photos and hand-drawn step-by-step illustrations, Vogue Knitting: The Ultimate Knitting Book, Completely Revised and Updated is surprisingly easy to navigate with thorough indexing and footnote cross-referencing.
