Description

If you are using fresh semen either from a known donor or from your partner, you will need a container to collect the semen sample. A collection cup with a wide mouth and a shallow depth is ideal. If you use a container from home, make sure you wash and dry it thoroughly; any small amount of soap or water could kill the sperm. If you are concerned about wastage in the syringe, you can use some saline, without additives . . . add some to the syringe, shake it a bit, get the air out, and inject. This is not necessary since there probably won't be enough wastage to be of concern. The semen has to be collected in a clean and sterilised cup or bowl. It is important that a condom is not used for this purpose as it can contain certain chemicals that are spermicidal. Now...in this process air bubbles in the syringe are not ideal. Some tiny ones are almost impossible to avoid however, it’s the big ones you want to avoid.

Creamy might be whitish and feels somewhat like lotion when you rub your fingers together. This mucus can be produced around your fertile time.

Home Insemination Process Works

You can become pregnant at home with home fertilization, eliminating the need for a fertility clinic. Although this is a safe procedure, there are still risks involved. Before attempting home insemination, it is critical to be aware of these factors.

However, some couples choose not to report the donation of sperm so it is very under-reported. Sign On The Dotted Line

If you’re not using a soft cup for vaginal insertion, you’ll need another way to get the sperm from the receptacle into the vagina. Most people use a needleless syringe for this, the kind you would use for giving liquid medicine to a pet or child. If your temperature remains higher for 18 days after ovulation, then you should test for pregnancy. If you’re using an injection, have it with no needle (5 to 10 ml size, get from a health care provider or pharmacy). If you want to inject semen into your vagina, you’ll need this needle-free syringe. How To Inseminate A Woman Using A Syringe Folks who are using inseminations to get pregnant are often not in that situation as their preferred way to make a baby. Maybe their reproductive organs don’t match up for reproduction (like a couple with two uteruses and no sperm) or they’re experiencing infertility. The kit will tell you to thaw the frozen vial in a cup of room temperature water for about 15 minutes first.

Sperm can be obtained from your partner, from a sperm bank or from a known sperm donor – the key thing to keep in mind is that the sperm is healthy. If you’re not sure about your known donor sperm, consider finding a test online to confirm the sperm count and to screen for STDs. They’re easy to use at home, and will give you peace of mind before trying to conceive. Collection Cup Selection So what will you need to inseminate using this method. I’ll elaborate on each of these in a moment but for now you’ll need… The first morning urine contains the highest level of FSH and is the best for testing. Urine collected during the day will contain lower levels of FSH and may cause false negatives. Do not drink excess fluids after midnight before testing in the morning. There are many different types of insemination syringes available on the market, but the mosie insemination syringe is one of the most popular. This syringe is designed to make it easy to insert sperm into the cervix, and it has a wide variety of features that make it a great choice for many couples. Some of the features that make the mosie insemination syringe so popular include its easy-to-use design, its ability to hold a large amount of sperm, and its comfort-grip handle. How Far Do You Insert Syringe For Insemination? Following insertion of the semen sample into the vagina, the pelvis should be kept tilted upwards, using cushions if needed, for at least half an hour. It is also advisable to try and have an orgasm following insertion of the semen. This causes the walls of the vagina to constrict, aiding movement, and also causes the cervix to dip down into the pool of semen. If this is not possible just keep your pelvis tilted to aid the sperm in their journey.Perhaps give this a try a few times before the actual event to get some practise if you haven’t used a menstrual cup before. Try and get ‘as shallow’ a menstrual cup as you can so the semen is as close to the cervix as possible. The most shallow one we could find was the Intimina Ziggy Cup. A Negative Test result indicates that your F.S.H. levels are not raised. However, if you do have irregular periods or any menopause-like symptoms we still recommend you see your doctor.

To begin testing, open the sealed pouch and remove the strip. Do not remove the strip until you are ready to begin testing. Unless you have a man who is ready to be your donor, you’ll have to go searching. Some people find donors online or through social groups. Meet with the potential donor, and be clear about your expectations. Ask about his expectations; you need to agree on the terms of the donation. It’s essential that the donor gets tested for sexually transmitted diseases and you may also want him to undertake genetic testing. Or Find a Donor Sperm Timing is the same as for intercourse -- if possible. The best timing is the day before LH surge as detected with an ovulation predictor kit), day of LH surge, and next 2-3 days, the last day or two being insurance. If you don't have all those options, the day of the LH surge and the day after are best. With the arrows pointing downwards towards the urine, place the test strip vertically (straight) into the urine sample, for at least 10 seconds. DO NOT allow the urine to go above the MAX (maximum) level line. You may ovulate as many eggs as you want after injecting gonadotropins into your body. The injections may be repeated if ovulation does not occur within a few days of the injection. A blood test that measures the level of the hormone luteinizing hormone (LH) is used to determine ovulation. Home insemination is a process in which sperm is inserted into the vagina using a syringe, without medical assistance. The process is often done at home, using a do-it-yourself kit. Home insemination can be an effective way to conceive, but there are some risks involved. The success rate of home insemination is about the same as the success rate of traditional IVF. https://www.reproductivefacts.org/news-and-publications/patient-fact-sheets-and-booklets/documents/fact-sheets-and-info-booklets/intrauterine-insemination-iui/ If your cycle is normally 28 days, the cycle chart above indicates you should begin testing on Day 11. The calendar below shows you how to work out when day 11 is.
