So what happens with these little white lies? Well, you’ll have to read to find out. But the heart and soul put into this romantic comedy is DREAMY. I FELT everything that Ry was feeling. He is a man that I would be proud to call my own. And Maggie? She is a sassy and fun character that could easily become my own best friend. These characters touched my heart, made me smile from ear to ear, and gave me a pleasurable reading experience through and through. The comedy? It’s up to part with Tara Sivec’s Chocolate Lovers Series and the Virgin Romance Novelist series by Meghan Quinn (my favorite romantic comedies EVER). Coincidentally (or not), Chapman & Kipfer also notes that clambake had a special meaning in jazz circles, starting in the 1930s:

Serve it Up – Squeeze in your lime juice. Stir your clams into the jerk broth. Garnish with extra lime wedges and your reserved scallions. Don’t forget the crusty bread! She’s falling hard for her gay roommate and there’s nothing she can do about it, until she declares she’s ready to date all bets are ff, Ryland put his Clam Jam into motion. Clambake n. (1930s–1950s) an "ad lib {jam} session ... not in the groove"; a "swing" or jam session; (1950s) a jazz or rhythm-and-blues musical affair that doesn't come off well. ([ Jazz Lexicon], p. 58) ... Brown Sugar – Balances the bitter components while both mellowing the heat of the scotch bonnet and enhancing its fruitiness.

Clam Jam' was delightful, well written story that really entertained me for a couple of hours. The pace was perfect for this kind of story and like I previously mentioned I enjoyed how the author blended the sexy elements with the humorous ones. As for the romantic ones…aww…so heartwarming and well done. What I really liked about this one was how fresh it was…from the premise to the characters, everything was refreshing and original. If you've ever been hitting it off with a guy and then you tell him his pong game is weak, you've been clam jammed.. by yourself, I might add.

See Clam Jam at The Royal Standard Gallery & Studios, Liverpool, until Sunday 1 November 2015; open on Saturdays and Sundays 12-5pm After a year, they both give in to their attraction and sleep together many many MANY times, but to Maggie he's still fully gay.clam n. {poss. partly from being alliterative with its older synonym clinker [which Gold views as "onomatopoeic"]; more prob. shortened form of the derogatory sense of clambake; current since c. 1950; see also GOOF} A misplayed note; also, for a rare verb use, see 1961 quot. — 1955 Down Beat, 30 Nov., p. 47. I'd say that was a band that doesn't work together regularly ... because there were a few clams in the ensemble. — 1961 Down Beat, 2 Feb., p. 30. Hubbard sounds positively uncomfortable and clams in royal style at the beginning. Beer – Red Stripe is the way to go for this recipe. Since you already have it open for the clams, go ahead and finish the rest while you cook these up! Any Caribbean style lager or pilsner will work for this recipe.

Heat It Up –Heat your cast iron skillet over the hot coals. Once hot move it over to indirect heat. Add your neutral oil. So we go through the months with Maggie and Ry as roommates working to much more. They have that ease around each other that Ry knows he wouldn't get if he were truly pursuing her. As time goes by and Ry thwarts any type of dating for Maggie what so ever, these two have become best friends. And H. Brook Webb, " The Slang of Jazz," in American Speech (1937) confirms that clambake was used to refer to a jam session in the 1930s [combined snippets]:

Fitting

It’s a good thing he’s gay. Otherwise, lets be real. I’d likely end up being that flatmate who accidentally on purpose ‘sleepwalks’ into his bed. The earliest coverage of clam in the sense of "mistake or misplayed musical note" that I've been able to find is in Harold Wentwoth & Stuart Flexner, Dictionary of American Slang, first edition (1960): Finally, while there is nothing more fun than grilling clams directly over charcoal, this recipe can be prepared on the stovetop. You will want to use a skillet with a lid or a Dutch oven. Allow your Jamaican jerk broth to come to a simmer. Once simmering add your clams into the broth and cover your skillet or pot. Let them cook for 5-7 minutes or until they have just popped open. Remove any clams that didn’t open. How to Store and Clean Live Clams
